1.1 Open Events: Events are opened for rowers from different divisions.
1.2 Masters ‘A’ is restricted to crews who have attained the age of 27 years (born on or before 31st Dec
1982).
1.3 Masters ‘B’ is restricted to crews whose average age is at least 36 years and Masters ‘C’ is 43
years. Masters events are restricted to rowers who have attained the age of 27 years (born on or
before 31st Dec 1982).
* Notes of school invitation events:
JM2x and JW2x events are restricted to competitors who were born on or after 1st January 1994. These
junior events will be invitational, and junior crews can enter and compete under the name of their Club
OR School. For these events, it is not required that the junior rowers’ school be affiliated to the
HKCRA. These junior prizes will not be awarded to composite crews.
2. Rules of Racing
2.1 The races shall be rowed in accordance with the Rules of Racing of Hong Kong, China Rowing
Association

3. Eligibility
3.1 Club representatives are advised to make their entries with reference to the Preliminary
Schedule, especially for participants intending to enter for 2 events. The published order of
racing will not be changed for any double entries which involve time clashes.
3.2 Each participant may enter a maximum of 2 events.

3.3 Members and Registered Rowers aged 12 or above are welcome to participate in the regatta.
Each competitor (including coxswains) should be able to present his/her HKCRA membership card
for competition. Application and collection for the membership card will not be entertained
on the day of the regatta. Competitors failing to present a valid membership card will be charged
HK$20 for administration fee. Non-members will not be entertained and no exceptions will be
made under any circumstances.
3.4 Every crew must enter and compete under the name of a Club registered with the HKCRA (with
the exception only of the junior events as described above). No rower may compete for two
different Clubs at the same Regatta.
3.5 Each competitor shall be responsible for his own health and fitness and able to swim 50 meters in
light clothing.
3.6 Participants (except coxswains) must compete in events of their own sex origin.
3.7 The minimum weight for a coxswain (wearing racing uniform) is 50 kg for men’s events and 40 kg
for women’s events. (To make up this weight, a coxswain may carry additional deadweight as
close as practicable to his/her person in the boat. No article of racing equipment shall be
considered as part of this deadweight.)
4. Entry Procedures
4.1 Clubs wishing to take part in this regatta should complete the enclosed Entry Form and
Competitors Declaration Form, and submit by mail, fax or e-mail to HKCRA office (Sha Tin
Rowing Centre) on or before 4th September 2009 (12:00 noon). Softcopy of the Entry Form and
Declaration Form are available on the HKCRA website and e-mail entries are preferred.
4.2 Late entries will only be considered subject to the number of entries in that event and the final
decision of the Organizing Committee. Late entries shall be subject to double entry fee. Late
Entry Deadline: 11th September 2009 (12:00 noon).
4.3 Incomplete entry forms and telephone entries will not be accepted, and such entries will not be
further processed. All Clubs should confirm their entries after submission of their entry form.
HKCRA would not bear the responsibility of any missing mail, e-mail or fax.
5. Withdrawals
If a crew withdraws from an Event for which it has been entered, it shall give notice on the
designated form to the Organizing Committee as early as possible; at the latest, it shall give notice
of withdrawal no later than one hour before the first heat of the Event concerned. For any
withdrawals received after this time, except when accompanied by a medical certificate, the club /
crew shall pay a penalty equal to the entry fee.
In the case of a withdrawal the Organizing Committee may conduct a new draw if required. A
withdrawal once made is irrevocable. There shall be no refund of entry fee.
6. Boats and Oars
All competitors must use their private boats and oars for competition. HKCRA boats will only be
allocated to Clubs who do not have boats or do not have sufficient boats to compete in an event.

7. Prizes
7.1 Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed crews in each event.
7.2 Letters of congratulation will also be sent to their schools, informing them of their respective
students’ success.
7.3 A trophy of “Champion Club” will be awarded to the Club, which gains the highest points in the
Shing Mun River & Verdant River Regatta.
Details of the point scoring system are set out below.

7.4 Prizes will be presented after each Final immediately.
8. Entry Fees
8.1 Entry fee: $37/entry for Senior; $27/entry for Junior (Age 18 or below).
(Included Equipments Charge: $25, Senior; $15, Junior.)
8.2 Double entry fee will be charged for all late applications under the condition (4.2).
8.3 Entry Fee should be paid to HKCRA on or before Entry Deadline.
8.4 Late Payment Charges: Administration charge of 25% on top of the total entry fee.
8.5 Payment Method:
a) Cheque: Made payable to “Hong Kong, China Rowing Association”; or
b) Transfer Payment: Transfer payment to the HSBC Account (002-6-187443) and fax back the
payment slip or email with Reference No. (If using eBanking) to HKCRA with your club’s
name written on it before the deadline.
