Introduction

Do you think these graphics you see

have purpose?

.

Anthropic Principle

“The universe appears to have been

fine tuned for our existence.”

 Fortuitous luck against tremendous odds.

 Purposeful design of an intelligent Agent.

 Right combination of cosmological values.

 Hailed by Intelligent Design Theorists

Personal View on the Principle

Issue

“There is a Creator who specially

designed the Universe for His

Creations.”

 Planned Creation

 Designed to suit life

 Made to support life

Scientific Pantheism Principle

“The universe exists for itself,

without cause or purpose.

 Nothing existed before it.

 Nothing exists outside.

 No any purpose.

 Cosmos is its own cause, purpose and

designer.

Personal View on the Principle

Issue

“Nothing (including the universe)

comes into existence without any

cause or purpose. ”

 Nothing happens without a cause.

 Thing can exist with a purpose

beyond human comprehension.

 Something can exist outside a thing

as the source of its purpose.

Humanism Principle

“The universe exists for no purpose, life can

have a meaning if we assign a meaning to

life.”

 Human has right and responsibility to give

meaning and shape to their own lives.

 Assumption of fundamental human rights

 Rights are inherent property of human

intelligence

 Reason without religion.

Personal View on the Principle

Issue

“The universe exist and designed for a

purpose to provide residence.”

 Life existence is attributed to the

universe.

 There is always aim in life.

 Life has a purpose.

Philosophy of Bertrand Russell

“Life in general has no purpose.”

 Human life is objectively

meaningless.

 Man is product of causes without

previsions of the end.

 Individual human beings have

purposes.

Philosophy of Friedrich

Nietzsche

“Human existence in the universe does

not really have a purpose.”

 Life has no intrinsic meaning or value.

 All values as worthless and baseless.

 No objective order or structure in the

world.

 All reason is impotent.

Philosophy of David Hume

“God's ideas were no true explanation

of the material world, since a mental

world required a cause just as much

as any other.”

 Showed how apparent design can arise

purely by chance in a universe of particles

in motion.

 Some forms of order, once hit upon, would

support themselves for a very long time.

 Animals which were not well ordered

perish.

Concluding Thoughts

Does universe has a purpose? Does life

has a purpose?

These questions got many answers but

till this moment, they remain big

questions. There are many principles

standing on different points. No

matter how much principles are

there, a loud and clear answer to

these questions remain hard to get.
