Italian Biscotti Recipes

There are an endless variety of Italian biscotti recipes. The following are a couple variations that

are both easy and delicious and are sure to make nearby mouths water!

Simple Biscotti Recipe

Makes about 4 dozen cookies

Ingredients:

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 cup granulated sugar

3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

3 large eggs

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon anise or almond extract

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Prepare your cookie sheets by greasing them or line them with

parchment paper. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the oil, eggs, sugar and anise

flavoring and beat until well blended. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining dry ingredients

and then stir these into the egg mixture to form a heavy ball of dough. Divide the dough into two

pieces.

Form each piece into a roll (a long tube) as long as your cookie sheet. Place the roll onto the

prepared cookie sheet and apply a little bit a pressure until it is about 1/2 an inch thick.

Pop these in the oven for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. When the color seems

right, remove from the baking sheet to cool on a wire rack. When the biscotti are cool enough to

handle, slice 'em up! Using a long-bladed knife, slice the cookies into 1/2 inch slices.

Place the slices cut side up back onto the baking sheet. Bake for an additional 6 to 10 minutes on

each side. Remove from heat, and voila! A perfect cookie for a snack or for entertaining!

Another one of those oh-so-tasty Italian biscotti recipes that you simply must try are of the

chocolate variety. Read on and you won't be disappointed!

mixer until light and fluffy. Gradually add in the cocoa and baking powder. Add the eggs one at

a time. Sift the flour in next, work until you have a ball of dough. Finally mix in the chocolate

chips. Divide the ball into two pieces.

prepared cookie sheet and apply a little bit a pressure until it is about 1/2 an inch thick.

Pop these in the oven for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. When the color seems

Sugar Free Recipes

This article will a little bit show you a sugar free recipes for Candida diet. Do you know what the best

treatment to cure your candidacies is? I have seen many people who suffer candidacies whether they

have it for just couple months or have been dealing with it for years. Among those people, a portion has

made a huge success in getting rid of the Candida. And from these success people, most of them get

their Candida cured because of the combination of both natural treatment and drugs or antifungal

drugs.

The best natural treatment available is to take the Candida diet. It will remove the Candida. The

problem now is how you can control your food for the diet. Many book recipes are actually

available on bookstore. Although only a few of them focus on Candida diet foods, but at least

they are available. A one case below is just one tiny example on how you can make your own

food to adjust your Candida diet.

I have a friend, who is a mother of a daughter, she and her daughter have candida. They are

looking for a bread or muffin or roll recipe that is yeast, sugar, gluten and milk free. So they need

suggestions. So having that question, below is what I suggest them. A simple, tasty morning

crepes recipe:

Grind up 1/3 cup whole oats in a blender or food processor, mix in 1/3 cup unsweetened soy

milk and 1 egg. Make enough for 2 crepes. Pour it on a hot non-stick fry pan with butter or oil

then sprinkle extra oats on top and cook on each side until golden.

You can add Stevie, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, or whatever to the batter. I like it with Stevie-

sweetened yogurt on top, but you can use whatever topping conforms to your diet. I imagine you

could also use these crepes to wrap up some steamed veggies (like asparagus) for a dinner.

KFC Chicken Recipe

For well over fifty years the recipe developed by Col. Harlan Sanders for his Original KFC

Chicken Recipe has been a carefully guarded secret. The recipe has been kept in a vault for many

years. Even today, the eleven herbs and spices are blended in two separate facilities before being

brought to the KFC headquarters for the final blend. While there are many attempts to copycat

this recipe, there are few recipes that actually come close to the great flavor of the original.

One thing that is known for certain is that the chicken is cooked in a pressure fryer. Few homes

have access to the pressure fryer, although it can be found in many restaurants and the deli

section of many grocery stores that offer fried chicken. This device allows the chicken to be

cooked to perfection as the steam builds pressure and keeps the meat tender during the cooking

process. Most of the copycat recipes call for use of a deep fat fryer or deep frying pan instead.

From a taste test, it is easy to determine that the Col. Sanders used sage, rosemary, garlic and

onion in his chicken. In addition, we know that there is salt and pepper in the mix. The secret to

the recipe is the exact proportion of these spices and the other unknowns that are used in the mix.

Once the mix is completed, it is sent to the franchises where it is added to flour and blended.

To prepare the chicken, pieces are first dipped into a mix of eggs and milk. The moist chicken is

then dipped into a mixture of the flour, herbs and spices. The floured chicken is then dropped

into the pressure fryer and cooked until done. In attempting to copy the recipe, most home cooks

will use a pan to deep fat fry the chicken until done. Frying chicken can take a while. Plan for the

chicken to cook for twenty-five to thirty minutes.

While you may never find the exact recipe for KFC chicken recipe, there are many recipes that

come close. They blend many different spices and herbs in the flour mix to give an

approximation that can be cooked in the home so that you can have your favorite chicken any

time of the day or night and not have to pay the prices that the Colonel wants for his famous

recipe. In addition, you may find a healthier alternative to fried chicken.

Easy Quinoa Breakfast Recipes

There are plenty of easy quinoa breakfast recipes that you can find online but I'll only share 3 of

my favorites. Quinoa is so versatile that you can practically add anything to it without

overpowering the other ingredients.

One of my favorite breakfast recipes is the nutty cinnamon quinoa recipe. You will need a cup of

low fat milk or skim milk, a cup of water, a cup of quinoa (well-rinsed), 2 cups fresh blueberries

or strawberries, ½ teaspoon finely ground cinnamon, 1/3 cup chopped pecans (or any nut that

you prefer) and 4 teaspoons organic nectar.

This is so easy to make, all you have to do is boil the milk, water and quinoa in a saucepan over

high heat and then reduce the heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until

most the liquid is absorbed. Turn off the heat and set it aside for 5 minutes while covered. Mix in

cinnamon and blueberries and top with the chopped nuts. Drizzle with nectar and serve.

Another easy quinoa breakfast recipe that I like is the hot quinoa breakfast cereal. You will only

need a cup of cooked quinoa, thinly sliced apples, seedless raisins, dash of cinnamon, milk and

honey. Mix all the dry ingredients together and serve with milk. You can add honey or low-

calorie sugar to taste.

The last easy quinoa breakfast recipe that I found is the peanut butter quinoa recipe. For the

ingredients, you need a cup of quinoa, 2 to 3 tablespoons of butter, 2 cinnamon sticks, 2

tablespoons of sugar, 1 cup of milk, roasted pecans, raisins or dried cranberries and any fruits of

your choice (bananas, strawberries, peaches).

Boil the quinoa with milk, sugar, cinnamon sticks and peanut butter. Reduce the heat to low until

the milk is absorbed. Set it aside and cover it for 5 minutes. Add all the ingredients and serve.

Now that's easy right?

Solar Pasta Recipes

Of all the solar recipe categories available solar pasta recipes simply have to be one of the all

time favorites. These recipes are easy to follow, require no great skill or years of experience and

arguably are even more delicious than pasta cooked using conventional methods, due to the

gradual but thorough cooking process that occurs in the solar cooker.

Fundamentally two processes have to occur in parallel. In one solar pot, preferably a black

enameled-bellied pot with a reasonably tight-fitting lid, the raw ingredients need to be cooked.

This is by far the longest process and needs to start fairly early. Initially prepare and add the raw

vegetables with 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil (garlic, mushrooms, onions, peppers etc) into the solar

pot and position in the solar cooker, allowing the cooking process to start.

Immediately thereafter to a second black enameled-bellied pot add approximately 5 cups of tap

water at ambient temperature (in other words fill this solar pot about 70% with water). Similarly

position this second solar pot in the solar cooker and allow the water to slowly start heating up.

After about 1 hour remove the first pot and add the meat combination(s) (ham, chicken, seafood

etc). At this stage do not add the cooking sauce(s) (cream, yogurt etc). Place the solar pot back

into the solar cooker and allow to continue cooking for at least a further 2 hours (possibly

longer).

Timing in the latter part of the solar pasta meal becomes all important. Pasta is a carbohydrate

that if over cooked can become soft and spongy as opposed to the required "al dente" texture and

for that reason needs to be closely monitored.

2 hours before serving add the required sauces to the first solar pot and allow the meat/ vegetable

combination to cook in the sauces, fully absorbing the taste and aroma.

40 minutes before serving add the pasta to the second solar pot. The water should be extremely

hot, even possibly steaming. Once the pasta is added add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to prevent the

pasta from sticking and clumping together. This is particularly important if you are cooking

lasagna.

Place this second pot back into the solar cooker and allow to cook, checking from 15 minutes

onwards. Do not make the mistake of thinking the pasta will cook more slowly in the solar

cooker due to the somewhat stagnant nature of the water compared to that of using a

conventional hot plate. As soon as the pasta is "al dente" remove and drain the water from the

pot. Transfer the pasta to a large serving bowl, remove the cooked ingredients and toss into the

pasta, including the sauces.

Mix thoroughly and add salt, pepper and spices to taste. Serve hot in an eating bowl, preferably

accompanied with a glass of dry red wine. The solar pasta phenomena is now complete!

Delicious Mexican Breakfast Recipes

When you think of famous Mexican foods, you might think of such culinary delights as tacos,

burritos, enchiladas and so on, but what about Mexican breakfast foods? Mexicans love to eat

big, hearty meals and breakfast is no exception. A good breakfast is important in every culture

and Mexicans love to start their day with a delicious Mexican food recipe.

Typical Mexican breakfasts vary between the different regions in Mexico but tortillas are the

defining element of Mexican breakfast dishes.

Mexicans use tortillas like other nations use bread and you might find breakfast burritos or

breakfast tacos on a Mexican menu. Tortillas are unleavened and often made with maize flour,

and they have been around for thousands of years.

Heaves rancheros is a typical Mexican breakfast and this is made by topping a tortilla with fried

eggs and adding some hot sauce. Eggs feature in many breakfast recipes actually and Mexicans

eat them boiled, scrambled or fried for breakfast. Omelets are another way to use them. If eggs

are on the breakfast menu, hot sauce is usually not far away.

Mexicans enjoy eating fresh produce at every meal and this includes fruit and vegetables.

Tomatoes, corn, beans, cilantro and fresh fruit are all served at breakfast time in Mexico. These

ingredients also feature in many other Mexican recipes.

Mexican Breakfast Drinks

Hot chocolate and coffee are equally popular at breakfast time in Mexico. A thick hot chocolate

called champurrado is a delicious, cinnamon-infused concoction, which is an enjoyable and

warming drink for a cool morning.

Crusty rolls called bolillos are often dipped into milky coffee or Mexican hot chocolate. Sweet

chocolate, fruit or nut pastries might be served with coffee or hot chocolate. A lot of Mexicans

have a sweet tooth.

Recipe for Corn Pancakes with Cilantro and Scallions

The following recipe is guaranteed to fill your family up at breakfast time. These corn pancakes

contain eggs, corn kernels, scallions and cilantro and they are filling and delicious. Sour cream

and mild tomato salsa are great accompaniments.

If you normally have your pancakes with maple syrup, why not try this tasty Mexican variation?

This recipe makes enough to feed a family of four.

You will need:

 1 egg

 1 cup yogurt

 1/2 cup all purpose flour

 1 teaspoon baking powder

 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

 1/3 cup chopped scallions

 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

 1 teaspoon sugar

 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

 1 small jalapeno, seeded and chopped

 1/3 cup cornmeal

 1/4 teaspoon salt

 1 cup cooked corn kernels

 Sour cream and mild tomato salsa, to serve

How to make it:

Sift the flour into a bowl, with the baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Stir in the

cornmeal.

Beat the eggs, yogurt, corn, scallions, cilantro, jalapeno, and vegetable oil in another bowl, and

then add this mixture to the flour mixture.

Heat a skillet over a medium high heat and brush it with oil. Ladle some of the batter into the hot

skillet and cook it until there are little holes. Flip the Mexican pancake and brown the other side.

Repeat this until you have used all the batter. Serve the pancakes with sour cream and mild

tomato salsa.

Vegetarian Pizza Recipe

With so many possibilities, vegetarian pizza recipes can suit every taste and are open to

interpretation and creation. Experiment, enjoy, and share!

Whether you bake a lot of pizzas or are completely new to them, they are one of the most

enjoyable and rewarding things to cool. Some pizza restaurants make terrible pizzas, being oily

and full of fat, but when you bake them yourself, you will be able to control every aspect of

them, especially if you're vegetarian and have your very own vegetable pizza recipe. You can

add all of your favourite ingredients, and eliminate all of the fatty and greasy components that

you dislike.

Having the control over the ingredients also means you can use ones that you have grown

yourself in your very own garden. Since vegetables are so common and easy to grow in your

backyard, they are fantastic to add to your pizza recipe. The base itself is also quite easy to make

as it is a simple dough. You can also modify it to suit your needs and likes, such as using

wholemeal or gluten-free flour, which is sure to be able to suit every vegetarian. The pizza sauce

is traditionally tomato based, but you can change that for whatever you like, even a jam if you're

so inclined!

As you can see, experimenting with pizzas and all sorts of combinations is definitely possible

and limitless. As I've eluded to, you're not limited to vegetables and savoury pizzas. Although

very uncommon, it is also possible to make sweet pizzas to serve as a desert. You can sweeten

the dough a little by adding sugar, and you can add jams, chocolates, and lollies for toppings.

Just make sure the lollies don't melt in the oven and make a good old mess!

Home Made Pizza Recipe

Do your family like fast food but you don't want them eating junk? I have a 20 month old son

who typically loves the food I won't let him eat. I discovered recently that he adores pizza but of

course I certainly didn't want him eating those frozen ones you get as you really don't know what

is in them but I always thought pizza was so difficult to make. I was talking to my sister-in-law

about it and she gave me this recipe for home made pizza and I was a bit nervous but said I

would give it a try to see what it was like.

Boy was I pleasantly surprised. Firstly at how easy it was and secondly about how much tastier it

was. Even my husband (who likes his pizza) said he wouldn't buy any more pizza and wanted the

home made one in future. I like that fact that you can pick your own toppings and can put plenty

of them on and not be trying to spread bits around the pizza. My son raves about them now and

is always shouting for pizza.

The recipe below makes two generous sized pizzas but I roll them over very very thin so if you

like thicker bases maybe you should increase the quantities. The first time I made it I thought I

hadn't nearly enough dough but there really is quite an amount when you roll it out. Don't be put

off by the fact you have to leave it for an hour. I usually make the dough around lunchtime when

I put my son down for his sleep and then take it out of the hot press that evening when I am

ready to roll it out. Also the mixture was too wet so I just kept adding bits of flour until it was

about right and it didn't affect it in any way. So here's the recipe, I have no idea where my sister-

in-law got the recipe but it's a really nice one.

Ingredients:

 8oz strong plan white flour

 1 tsp (level) salt

 1 1/2 tsp yeast

 3 - 4 fluid oz hand hot water

 1/4 tsp sugar

 1 egg

 1 tsp olive oil

Tomato puree or passata and cheese followed by whatever toppings you require

Method:

Put water in basin and whisk in sugar and yeast. Leave for 15 minutes until a frothy head forms.

Sift the flour and salt together and pour into yeast along with the egg (which should be beaten

beforehand). Mix to a dough, you may need to add some more water (or in my case a little more

flour). You should end up with a soft pliable dough.

Knead for 10 minutes. Put into a bowl and put the tsp of olive oil on your hands and put all

around the dough. Put back in the bowl and cover with cling film. Put in a hot place for 1 hour.

When you are ready to roll out the dough remove it from where it has been and knead for a

further 5 minutes before rolling out.

Simply add your toppings and cook in a hot oven (about 220 Celsius) for 15 - 20 minutes. I also

like to add some herbs on top for a little extra flavor but this is entirely up to you, just

experiment and has fun.

Fruit Pizza Recipes

Do you have a craving for pizza, but don't want the usual tomato and cheese sauce fair? Are you

craving a fruit pie that's less gooey? You don't have to despair because fruit pizza recipes can

satisfy your every whim. You can enjoy a sweet rather than savory Italian slice of fruit joy using

all sorts of fruit pizza recipes.

Some of the more dessert orient fruit pizza recipes involve cookie dough crust, and cream cheese

in place of the sauce. It's then up to you to line the pie with any kind of fruit that suits your

fancy. You can include any kind of fruit that you can imagine, as long as the flavors pair well

together. If you really want a dessert treat, it makes perfect sense to drizzle your pie with honey

or syrup. You can even put chocolate on it! Go nuts, and put nuts on it, it's your pie, after all.

You will want to bake this masterpiece, and most fruit pizza recipes call for baking the cookie

crust for about 10 minutes on 375 degrees. You can choose to bake the fruit and cheese too, or

you can apply all the goodies and amenities after the baking process. It's really up to you. You

could try it both ways just to taste the difference and determine which way you prefer it.

If you don't want to mix up your own cookie dough, you can just get some from a can. They

offer all kinds of dough in a can, most people like sugar cookie with their fruit, but you could

really try anything. Peanut butter could be really tasty, and oatmeal could be really fun.

You might find yourself at a loss concerning wish fruits to put on this most anticipated pizza.

Here's a few suggestions: the ever popular strawberry (great with chocolate!), bananas, kiwi,

apple, pears, mango, sliced grapes, berries (like blueberries, blackberries, raspberries), and the

list goes on. As long as you like to eat the fruit, you might as well pile it on. Anything tastes

good with cream cheese.

Moms and dads who are concerned about their children receiving the required intake of

antioxidants and vitamins for optimal health can sneak all the good things in through by

disguising it so well with cookie and cream cheese. What kid's going to turn up a nose at such a

heavenly concoction? You can even put whipped cream and caramel drizzle all over the whole

pie to further conceal the nutritional goodness underneath. Your child will never suspect that

what they're eating actually has some sort of nutritional value hidden in all the fat and sugar. But,

considering all the dressing up you had to do, you might want to limit the intake of this calorific

fruit fest. Fruit pizzas are truly fabulous, but if you don't watch yourself, you could end up with

an extravaganza of saturated fats and processed sugars.

To cut down on the calories, make your pies with light cream cheese, whipped cream, and make

your own cookie dough using healthier ingredients. You can even sneak in a little whole grain

flour or flax seed if you're really adventurous.

Spicy Pizza Recipes

You can spice up any kind of pizza recipes, whether you are using meat, fish or vegetables as the

topping. There are different ways to add spice to a pizza, of course, with the simplest being just

to sprinkle some chili powder over the pizza before you bake it.

You might like to make a spicy pizza sauce recipe to spread over the pizza before adding the

toppings or you might want to use chopped fresh chilies to add color and so anyone who does not

want the heat can see them and pick them off their slice. What about marinating your chopped

meat or fish in a spicy marinade before adding it?

Making Your Own Pizza Recipes

If you are looking for a good fall or winter recipe, something that will warm you up and satisfy

your hunger, what about making a delicious homemade spicy pizza? You can use a readymade

pizza crust for convenience, then make an easy pizza sauce, add your favorite toppings and bake

it until crispy. Making pizza is so simple and you control all the ingredients and toppings.

You can serve hot sauce on the side for people who want to add extra fire to their pizza. Of

course, making a spicy pizza does not necessarily mean making something fiery enough to bring

tears to your eyes.

You might want to use spices like celery seed, black pepper, fennel and garlic salt to add a mild

and fragrant spiciness. Aromatic spices are a nice touch if you want a gently spiced pizza rather

than a fiery hot one.

Recipe for Spicy Pizza Sauce

This recipe makes a really good pizza sauce which is aromatically spiced rather than fiery hot.

This means you can choose whether to use strong-flavored toppings to boost the fire factor or

mild-flavored ones so that the fragrant herbs and spices in the sauce can shine through. Feel free

to add some chili powder to this recipe if you want to.

cook chicken on steam, you have to boil water in a deep sauce pan and place chicken pieces on

the strainer and put the strainer over boiling water. Then cover the pan and cook on low heat for

15 minutes until chicken becomes tender. If you want to shallow fry chicken pieces, put 2

tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan and then put marinated chicken pieces and cook for 10-15

minutes until chicken become dry and tender. Now you have to assemble the pizza. Take a pre-

made pizza dough and spread it onto your pizza pan. Now make a layer of pizza sauce on it, put

the chicken pieces evenly, make a cheese layer as much as you like and put some pieces of

vegetables mentioned is the pizza topping list. In the end, sprinkle some oregano and rosemary to

add great pizza odor. Now you can put the pizza pan in preheated oven for 10 minutes at 250

degree centigrade and turn on both upper and lower flame. Take out the pizza after 10 minutes

when it turns light brown from sides and all the cheese melts. For right baking, reduce the oven
