Generation Y is suddenly getting a lot of attention. Two years ago, it was because we were the
entitlement generation. We wanted our parents to still take care of us while we were entering the
working world, and trying to figure things out. We wanted our employers to offer us high salaries
and great benefits while we were trying to figure things out. We were treating adulthood in super
contrast to the days when you simply became an adult at eighteen - poof!
And while the Generation Yers might be behaving a little childishly, the truth is eighteen still is
childish. The truth is age doesn't have much to do with adulthood any more. The concept of
adulthood is defined by the moment when you understand that you are responsible for yourself,
and you start to plan accordingly.
Being an adult is difficult work, and the current economy doesn't help. "Job stability" seems like an
oxymoron for most of us, and at this point it's obvious that Congress and the government won't be
able to do much to help us. And people are turning to the only source they know of for answers -
Google. Automated home profits are what people are looking for.
We as a society are almost completely dependent upon the Internet in our day to day lives. The
poverty level in the US has includes one in seven Americans, and part of determining poverty is
whether or not you own a home computer. Knowing this, it's no surprise that the search for inbox
dollars is on the rise. And it used to be that people wanted automated home profits for the purpose
of replacing the job they went to every day. Now? They're just hoping for inbox dollars to
supplement their regular monthly paychecks.
And yes- this is all a part of being an adult. If your family is expanding, or you have a family
member take ill, or you need a new home for some reason, your corporate job does not just offer
you more money, though it is unavoidable that you will need more. It is not that life isn't fair -
working hard for a living has nothing to do with fairness - it's reality.
In truth, we should all be very grateful for that we live in a generation where working on the
internet is a reality. In previous generations, if these same events occurred and people needed
more money, mom or dad got a second job - outside of the house.
