Safety Language

Providing vital information to your employees in their native language not only helps eliminate

opportunities for safety mishaps — it can change the culture of a company. It can bridge the

cultural gap between employees and help maintain a well-informed workforce. But not just any

translator will do.

You’ll need to do some research. Not all translations are equal. Here are some tips…

 Know your employees. Keep in mind the varieties and nuances of different languages.

Choose a translation that can be understood by the entire population.

 Speak clearly. Always consider the educational level of your employees. Make sure your

writing is clear and concise with plenty of graphic elements.

 Take time to review. When at all possible have a native speaker review the translations.

Don’t just trust the translation agency to get it right the first time. Review! Review!

Review!

 Build relationships. Take this opportunity to form a solid relationship with a translation

agency you respect — so you can feel confident with future translations
