How to Finally Get a Flat Stomach. Getting a flat stomach can be very challenging for many

people, and often because of this many give up. The reason most people that try to get a flat

stomach fai, is due to improper dieting and wrong exercise techniques.



So if we've been going about it all wrong, what's the right way to get a flat stomach?



Surprisingly, the path to a flat stomach does not lie in crunches or sit-ups alone. Cardio is the true

key to a flat stomach. The reason for this is because cardio exercises burn many more calories

than targeted exercises such as crunches or leg lifts. Cardio exercises actually burn fat from your

entire body, instead of just one targeted area. Once you start burning away all the fat on your body

including the stomach, your stomach muscles will begin to show.



Now that you know the key to a flat stomach, its time to give it a try! Start by changing your diet.

This will go a long way to helping you lose your first few pounds, even if you can't begin exercising

yet. Then once you've gotten your diet going, get a cardio routine in place. Once you have your

diet and exercise routines down pat, you can then start adding in crunches to further strengthen

your core which will flatten your stomach.



That said, let's look at which crunch exercises work the best.



For working your upper abs, the basic crunch is your best exercise. You perform a basic crunch

by lying flat on your back, preferably on an exercise mat. Place your hands to the side of your

head and bend your knees at a 90 degree angle. Lift your shoulders upwards like you were

attempting to touch your chest to your knees. Remember, your legs do not move here! This

exercise should engage only your stomach muscles. Do this in sets of 3-4 with 15-30 reps per set.

Give yourself some time to rest between sets.



For lower abs the best workout by far is a reverse crunch. The reverse crunch requires you to lie

on your back with your hands directly behind your head, knees bent, and feet roughly 5 inches

from the ground. Then slowly bring your knees up toward your chest, lifting your butt off the

ground slightly. Concentrate hard on your stomach muscles as you do this. Again preform this

exercise in 3 to 4 sets. Make sure you do 15 - 30 reps each, resting 2-3 minutes between each

rep.



While there are a wide variety of exercises out that claim to flatten your stomach, these two are

the best. The main problem people face when trying to get a flat stomach is in proper dieting and

executing the exercises for their abs incorrectly. Seriously consider the pointers in this article and

preform these workouts exactly as described. You will really be on your way to a getting a flat

stomach. Do not cheat yourself. Be as consistent as possible with your routine. Doing 2 sets of

your exercise routine one day and 6 the next to make up for it will make it harder to acheive your

goal, as it will stall your journey to success. Just remember with a little work and dilegence, you'll

be on your way to a flat stomach in no time!
