Abbreviations used are OBC-Other Backward Class, SC-Scheduled Caste, ST-Scheduled Tribe, UR-
Unreserved, PHC-Physically Handicapped Category (OH-Orthopedically Handicapped, VH-Visually
Handicapped), Ex.S/M - Ex.Serviceman.
2. Below mentioned qualifications required as on 30 Jan 2009

02 Stenographer (a) Must have passed Matriculation or its equivalent from Working knowledge
Gr.III a recognized Board/Institution. of computer.
(b) Must possess a speed of 80 words per minute in
shorthand either in English or in Hindi to be transcribed
on a typewriter within for the purpose.
03 Lower (a) Must have passed Matriculation or its equivalent from Working knowledge
Division a recognized Institution/ Board. of computer.
Clerk (b) Must possess a minimum speed of 30 words per
minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi
typewriting.
A physically handicapped person who is otherwise
qualified to hold a clerical post but does not possess the
said qualification in typewriting may be appointed subject
to the conditions that a Civil Surgeon or equivalent
certifies that the said handicapped person is not in a fit
condition to be able to type.
04 Telephone (a) Matriculation or its equivalent with English as a Fluency in spoken
Operator compulsory subject. English

3. Age will be considered as on 30 Jan 2009
(a) For post at Sl.No. 01 : Age 18 to 30 years
(b) For posts at Sl.No. 02 and 03 : Age 18 to 27 years
(c) For posts at Sl.No. 04, 05, 06 and 07 : Age 18 to 25 years
(d) For post at Sl.No. 08 : Age 21 to 30 years
(e) For post at Sl.No. 09 : Age 18 to 45 years (For Ex-MNS Officers relaxable up to 50 years)
(f) Age relaxable to SC/ST 05 years, OBC 03 years, for Ex.Serviceman length of Military Service
increased by 03 years subject to GOI orders amended from time to time and up to a maximum of 10
years in case of PHC.
(h) For Government Servants age relaxable up to 40 years for posts at Sl.No. 2, 3, 6 & 7 and 35
years for Sl.No. 1, 4, 5 & 8.
4.General conditions for all posts:-
(a) Qualifications will be considered as on 30 Jan 2009.
(b) Ex.Serviceman to produce certificate in support of their claim and meet Govt. orders of qualifying
as Ex.Serviceman.
(c) The definition of categories of the handicapped for the purpose of reservation in employment as
per GOI DOP&T Order OM No.36035/14/95-Estt (Res) dt. 27-02-1996 read with OM 36035/2/98-Estt
(Res) dt. 04-06-1998 or as modified from time to time.
(d) OBC candidates to produce an attested certificate in the prescribed form issued by Competent
Revenue Authority not below the rank of Tahsildar/Mandal/Revenue Divisional Officer as prescribed
vide OM No.36012/22/93-Estt(SCT) dt.08-09-93 as amended vide No. 36033/3/2004-Estt (Res) dt.
09-03-2004. SC/ST candidates to produce certificate in support of their claim and attested copy of
certificate in the prescribed form issued by the Competent Revenue Authority not below the rank of
Tahsildar/Mandal/Revenue Divisional Officer.
(e) Original certificates shall not be sent by post. Only attested copies of certificates are to be
enclosed with the application.
(f) The vacancies shown above are provisional and may vary/ reduced/increased or even made NIL
without assigning any reason.
(g) The Competent Authority reserves the right to select the criteria for short listing the candidates to
be called for preliminary examination/written examination/interview/any other test as relevant.
(h) The candidates selected will be governed by the provisions of the New Pension Scheme as
introduced by the Govt. of India w.e.f. 01 Jan 2004.
(j) The department shall not be responsible for the late receipt or non-receipt of call letters for
test/interview due to delay in postal channel/transit/any other reason. Only the selected candidates
will be informed of their selection in due course after the selection process. Canvassing in any form
and/or bringing in any influence, political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification for the
test/post. INTERIM QUERIES WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED.
(k) Selected candidates are liable to serve any where in India and any Naval Unit within
Eastern Naval Command/Andaman & Nicobar Command. Those who are willing to serve any
where in India should only apply.
(l) No correspondence/enquiries will be entertained and canvassing in any form will be a
disqualification.
5. Instructions to candidates:-
(a) The application form should be filled, by the candidate in his own handwriting, in CAPITAL
LETTERS only.
(b) The envelope containing the application should be clearly superscribed in BOLD CAPITALS on
the extreme left corner of the cover with the name of the post applied for and reservation category
viz., SC/ST/OBC/PHC/Ex.S/M /UR as applicable, for example “Stenographer/UR”
(c) The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and mere possession of the same does
not entail candidates to be called for screening test/written examination/interview and subsequent
selection.
(d) Eligible candidates working in Govt. Services must submit their application through proper channel
along with No objection certificate from the Competent Authority.
(e) Incomplete application, applications with insufficient details/with other than the format prescribed/
without attested photocopies of certificates etc., will be summarily rejected without ascertaining any
reason.
(f) Candidates are requested to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility conditions before applying
for the above post.
6. Applications on the enclosed prescribed proforma with attested copies of certificates/testimonials in
support of age, educational/qualifications, technical qualifications, experience, caste, Ex.Serviceman
as per orders, etc., showing the particulars as per proforma should reach to “The Flag Officer
Commanding-in-Chief (for CCPO), Headquarters, Eastern Naval Command, Arjun Block, Naval
Base Post Office, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh – 530 014” by ordinary post only, on or
before 30 Jan 2009. In respect of applications from the candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya,
Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division or Jammu and
Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi sub-division of Chamba District of Himachal
Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep, the last date of receipt of applications will
be 10 Feb 2009.
