Building Your Brand On-campus Meet the Employer Networking Events & Company Presentations Employer on-campus briefings and company presentations provide opportunities to network and interact with our students. Presentations usually last one hour; and may be followed by a networking reception. Receptions & “Meet and Greets” Receptions are successful when following a company presentation. Brown Bags or Coffee Talks are more informal opportunities to interact with students. Professional Development Series Employers are invited to speak during our weekly one-hour Professional Development Series. This series focuses on the development of soft skill compentencies. It also exposes the MBAs to a variety of industries and occupations. This is a great venue for employers to meet and interact with the MBAs in an informal setting. Business of the Week Each week, the Shidler College of Business hosts a different company throughout the Spring and Fall semesters. Participating companies have unlimited access to Shidler College of Business facilities during their designated week to hold presentations about the business, professional workshops, as well as interviews for students interested in working for the company. Career Expo Employers may participate in Career Expos held during the Spring and Fall semesters. The Career Expos offer employers an informal venue to meet and recruit UH Shidler students for internships and full-time placement. Off-campus Employer Opportunities Employer Company Visits Company site visits leave a lasting impression on students. It allows them to experience the work environment in a tangible way. Site visits expose students to different jobs within an organization; and can include a company overview presentation. Interview by Phone If employers are planning to interview students from a remote location, our interview rooms are equipped with phones. Students may reserve a space to schedule phone interviews. Interview at Company Employers may choose to conduct interviews at their company’s site. Contact the Office of Internships and Career Development for assistance in coordinating the interviews. recruiting Materials Company Information Companies may provide our office Off-Campus Receptions Companies may choose to arrange and host students at off-campus sites such as hotels or special events. We will assist in marketing the event to the students. Resumes will be sent directly to employer for screening. Resume Books Each semester, resume books are compiled for those MBAs interested in internships or full-time placement. Employers may contact the Office of Internships & Career Development to request a resume book. Virtual copies are also available. Companies are invited to contact us to reserve the interview rooms. Space is limited, so reservations should be made as early as possible. We’ve got your perfect recruit. Visiting Shidler Shidler College of Business is about 15 minutes away from the Honolulu International Airport and less than 10 minutes away from Waikiki. Our office is able to provide a special parking pass for employers on a limited basis. Employers may contact the Internship and Career Development Office to confirm availability. Parking Visitor parking on the Manoa Campus ¯ is available in the Lower Campus, at the Dole Street Parking Structures, and in the green color Pay-to-Park visitor stalls located in parking lots mauka (mountain side) of Dole Street. The campus parking structures charge a flat rate fee of $4.00 payable in advance at the entry kiosks. Visitors using the Pay-to-Park green stalls need to use the automated Pay Stations located at that lot. These Pay Stations accept quarters, dollar coins, $1, $5, and $10 bills and require a fee of $2.00 per half hour up to a maximum of $16.00. The Pay Station issues a permit ticket that must be displayed on the dashboard of the vehicle showing the time until which the visitor has paid. The purchase of a $16.00 Pay-to-Park daily visitor permit from an automated Pay Station will allow re-entry into the Upper Campus visitor lots all day. The Upper Campus parking changes to a flat fee collection at 4:00 p.m. and on Rainbow Shuttle University of Hawai‘i at M¯ anoa provides a free on-campus shuttle bus service for faculty, staff, students and visitors. The Rainbow shuttle bus system consists of various shuttle routes throughout the campus during the Fall and Spring semesters. Depending on your routes, the shuttle bus comes every 15-30 minutes during the day and night, starting at 7:00am to 10:30pm. weekends. A fee of $4.00 is collected upon entry and parking is allowed in all regular parking stalls during these periods.
