     Qualified as ECB Coach (UKCC2)* or an ECB Level II qualification.

       Some information to assist you before deciding on a Cricket Coaching Course.

Once you have read the descriptions of each role carefully, consider which is most
suitable for you. Coaches requiring additional information on the course content can

ECB Coaching Assistant (Level 1)

The Level 1 course will be suitable for you if you have limited cricket experience and / or no
coaching experience. Minimum age 16 years.


It is designed to help you to “assist more qualified coaches, delivering aspects of coaching
sessions, normally under the direct supervision of an ECB Coach”. This may include : Running
Warm ups / cool downs / Organising Small sided games / Coaching Small groups
Course requirements
       4 x 3 hour modules. These are normally delivered over a week.

        Practical coaching assessment

        Multiple Choice Questionnaire

We will provide you with a variety of resources to support your learning and enable you to fulfil
the role of the coaching assistant. These will include coaching cards, a DVD and a workbook.

ECB Coach (Level 2)

The Level 2 course will be suitable for you if you have played cricket and have knowledge of some of
the rules and techniques involved in playing the game.
The ECB Coach Course is designed to help you “prepare for, deliver and review cricket coaching
sessions”.
If you have done the Level 1 you can do the certificate if under 18, but will not be issued certificate
until you are 18 years.

Course Requirements
      8 x 3 hour modules. These are usually delivered on 4 days over a 4-week period.

        Practical Coaching Assessment

        Multiple Choice Questionnaire

        6 x 30 minute sessions of Supported coaching practice – MUST BE ARRANGED BY THE
         CANDIDATE. This requires the candidate to be able to work in a coaching environment and
         must act as the lead coach with a UKCC2 or ECB level 2 coach supporting. Coach must display
         evidence of being able to plan progressive sessions. Contact KCB in cases where candidate has
         difficulty in arranging practice.
         Coaches can get ideas on session plans by accessing the ECB session plans at www.ecbca.co.uk

Candidates will be provided with a variety of resources to support your learning and enable you to fulfil

be given a logbook to help them with their coaching practice out in the field.
The £20 voucher discount from your Club’s Membership to KCB, is only applicable against UKCC
     courses. Voucher must be enclosed with application at time of payment to be valid.

Sky Sports Scholarships of £125 discount on the advertised cost of the UKCC2 course, are
available to identified KCB focus clubs, who have achieved Clubmark, and who have a coach
on a UKCC 2 Cricket Coaching course with the course completed by July 2007. The discounts
will only be payable from September 2007 to September 2008, only when the candidate has
                                received the UKCC2 certificate.
