Thank you for participating in the annual Sheridan Invitational
Track Meet. We are looking forward to a great day of fun
competition! The following are general information for a smooth
running meet:

This will be a non-scoring meet, however ribbons will be awarded
for places 1st through 6th.

There will be three divisions each for boys and girls. 6th, 7th, and
8th grade.

Each athlete is allowed to enter 5 events. Of those 3 may be
running events. Relays are considered running events.

Dressing rooms will not be provided.

Meet packets will be available to be picked up at 8:00 at the track.
Because of the number of schools and participants add-ons will not
be allowed. Scratches will take place at the marshal area or at the
field event site.

We will be using www.runnercard.com to enter your team. Go to
http:/runnercard.com If you do not have an account click on the
Create Account Link. If you already have an account, log in and
register as you have in the past. Then just follow the prompts on
the screen. If you have any problems feel free to contact me, Kim

by Tuesday April 27, 2010.
Each school is being asked to run a field event. I have
partnered schools together to allow prior communications with
your partner to determine the specifics as to who will do what.
All needed equipment (rakes,tapes etc) will be furnished by
Sheridan. All you will need is the people to run the event. It
will be imperative that ample manpower is provided to assure
the events run smoothly and flow continuously, or else it could
be a long day. We will be providing lunch for all meet
workers.

The following are the assignments for the specific events to be
run:

Pole Vault           Sheridan/Big Horn
Discus               Twin Spruce/Arvada Clearmont
Shot Put             Sage Valley/Wright
Long Jump            Buffalo/ Holy Name
Triple Jump          Tongue River/Dean Morgan
High Jump            Sheridan/Kaycee

Also a person from the following of the schools is needed to
provide a judge for the exchange zones in the relays:

1st Exchange Zone Lodge Grass
2nd Exchange Zone Sage Valley
3rd Exchange Zone Sheridan
                                      FIELD EVENTS

The following field events will be run: Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Pole
Vault, and High Jump.

Field events will begin promptly at 8:30 am

Each participant will be assigned a flight in which they will compete. All flight and heats
will be in the coaches’ packet and posted on the board for reference.

Each participant will be allowed three attempts in his/her event. There will be no finals!

The sequence of events will be as follows:

          Long Jump:      6th boys; 8th boys; 7th boys; 6th girls; 8th girls;7th boys
          Triple Jump     7th boys; 7th girls; 6th boys; 6th girls; 8th boys; 8th girls
          Discus          6th boys; 7th boys; 8th boys; 6th girls; 7th girls; 8th girls
          Shot Put        8th boys; 6th boys; 7th boys; 8th girls; 6th girls; 7th girls
          Pole Vault      6th girls; 6th boys; 7th boys; 7th girls;8th boys; 8th girls
          High Jump       8th girls; 6th girls; 7th girls; 8th boys; 7th boys; 6th boys


                                   RUNNING EVENTS

        All running events will be timed finals. All runners will be assigned a heat and a
         lane prior to the meet. All flight and heats assignments will be in the coaches’
         packet and posted on the board for reference. We will be running the 3200m in two
         heats. One for the girls and one for the boys. We will use different color wrist
         bands on the different age groups.

        All spikes must be 1/8” or shorter

        Running events will begin at 8:30 am with the 3200m.

        One false start is a disqualification
 The sequence of running events and the order of divisions will be as follows:
 6th Girls; 7th Girls; 8th Girls; 6th Boys; 7th Boys; 8th Boys



  3200 METERS
      6-8 GIRLS
      6-8 BOYS (These two heats may be combined depending on the numbers)

 100 meter hurdles
     6th girls (30”)
     7th girls (30”)
     8th girls (30”)
     6th boys (30”)
     7th boys(33”)
     8th boys (36”)

 100 Meter Dash

 800 Meter Medley Relay
 100;100;200;400

 800 Meter Run

 400 Meter Dash

 4 X 100 Meter Relay

 1600 Meter Run (Depending on numbers Divisions may be combined)

 200 Meter Hurdles

 200 Meter Dash

 4 X 400 Meter Relay

NEXT WEEK!!!
