INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY
KOLKATA CAMPUS
The Indian Maritime University has been established as a Central University by
the Government of India under an Act of Parliament, namely, the Indian Maritime
University Act, 2008. The Act was brought into force on 14th November 2008.
The University with its headquarter at Chennai has Regional Campuses at Kolkata,
Mumbai, Visakhapatnam. The Kolkata Campus is constituted with erstwhile
Indian Institute of Port Management (IIPM) and Marine Engineering & Research
Institute (MERI), Kolkata. Indian Maritime University-Kolkata Campus is ISO
9001:2008 certified.
(i) Education : The IMU-Kolkata Campus currently offers the following long
term educational programmes :
- B.E. (Marine Engineering)
- Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B. Sc. Nautical Science
- P.G. Diploma Courses on

(ii) Training :
The IMU-Kolkata Campus also conducts training programmes on all areas
related to general management and port & shipping management
throughout the year in the campus and also On-site training programmes at
client’s premises.

- Post-sea Courses (D.G. Shipping approved) (in collaboration with
FMIRO) for Merchant Navy.
- ISPS Code / Course for SSO and PFSO (approved by Liberian
Administration)

Course fees cover course materials, stationery, lunch and refreshment during
sessions. Nominations along with course fees may be sent to the following
address by Demand Draft in favour of “Indian Maritime University,
Kolkata Campus” payable at Kolkata.
Board and Lodging
Our Guest House is located at 73D, Peary Mohan Roy Road, Chetla, Kolkata
700 027, Tel (033) 2449 8206 (near No. 17 Bus Terminus). Outstation
delegates will be accommodated at the Guest House, if they so desire but
subject to availability.
Lodging Charges is @ Rs.150/- per day per participant for AC Room on
twin sharing basis subject to availability.
Food Charges at the Guest House : On actual basis.
Transport Arrangements : Institute car picks up participants residing in
the Guest House to the Institute free of charges during the programme.
Board and lodging charges will be directly realized from boarders by the
Guest House In-Charge as per laid down norms.
