Senior Distributed Systems Analyst, ALLTEL, Tampa, Florida 1999 – 2009

Maintain and administer 783 remote Linux servers at 700 sites nationwide; provide outstanding support

of the BMC / Marimba Software Distribution System. Manage installation of enterprise-class servers

and deployment of new business software versions and OS patches according to strict project

schedules. Establish build procedures and backup / recovery strategies, and perform scalability

planning. Help develop and coordinate schedules for production processing and operational

maintenance. Ensure adherence to established change management policies and procedures, and

maintain accurate and up-to-date operations documentation.

Key Achievements:

 Wrote more than 100 bash scripts and cron jobs to automate manual processes, eliminate

redundancy, and improve productivity.

 Developed and implemented self-extracting Linux distributions system for building remote

servers.

 Effectively carried out dual role as Help Desk Technical Lead, guiding team of 7 associates in

providing outstanding technical support to user community and providing timely resolution to

technical issues and outages.
