Sheridan’s Veteran’s Day Pentathlon

Sanction: Held under sanction of Wyoming Swimming, Inc. and USA Swimming,

Inc. Sanction Number 2010-3.



Liability: In granting this sanction, it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming,

Wyoming Swimming Inc., Sheridan Swim Team and the Sheridan County

School District #2 Pool shall be free from responsibility or liability for

injuries sustained by any individual, athlete, or spectator while traveling to

and from, or while participating in this meet. Also, the above-mentioned

are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged property.

Location: Early Building Pool at Sheridan Junior High, 620 Lewis St., Sheridan,

WY 82801



Pool: Indoor 25 meter pool with eight lanes, non-turbulent racing lane markers

and backstroke flags. Colorado Automatic Timing System with back-up

button, manual back-up timers and eight lane display electronic

scoreboard.



Entry

Deadline: Entries, hard copies, and payment MUST be received by November 6th,

2009.

Rules: 1. Current USA rules will prevail. The meet referee will have the final

authority for conduct of the meet. All coaches, officials, and meet

directors must have current USA cards on their person, in plain view, at all

times.

2. All events will be swum as timed finals.

3. Whistle starts will be used.

4. The meet referee with concurrence with meet director may consolidate

events in accordance with Section 102.8.2 of the USA Rules and

Regulations.

5. Starts for the 8 & Under 25’s will be in the water due to the pool depth.

6. All participating teams may be asked to provide timers during the meet.



Eligibility: The meet is open to all swimmers currently registered with USA

Swimming. No on deck registration will be allowed. Clubs will be fined

$100 by Wyoming Swimming Inc. for any swimmer who does not

meet current registration requirements.



Age Groups: Events will be seeded and swum in the following age groups: 8 & Under,

9-12, and 13 & Over. Individual events will be scored by individual age

groups: 8 & Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15 & Over. Age as of November

13 will determine the age group.



Scoring: Swimmers will earn points in individual events for their respective age

groups. However, because the meet is in a pentathlon format, events

swum on Friday evening will NOT be scored.

Individual: 13, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1



Awards: High point medals will be awarded to the top 3 point earners in each age

category. Ribbons will be awarded to the top 8 in each event. No team

awards will be provided.

Entry Fee: $3.00 per individual event. There is a $6.00 per swimmer WSI

participation fee and a $5.00 per swimmer pool surcharge. There will be

no refunds. Payment must accompany entries with checks made payable

to: Sheridan Swim Team.



Entry Limits: Each swimmer may enter up to five individual events per day.

Entries: All entries should be submitted via email or on a disk using Hy-Tek or

compatible software. Results will be available online as well as emailed

to the address from which the entries were sent. In lieu of a disk, entries

may be submitted on a Master Sheet. Hard copies or Master Sheet will be

the final authority on whether a swimmer is entered in an event. Email

entries are encouraged. A signed registration verification form must

accompany all meet entries. Please include phone numbers and/or email

addresses of coaches or club representatives in case any changes or

questions arise during the meet entry process.



Seeding: Events will be pre-seeded in times submitted in short course meters. At

the discretion of the meet referee, events may be combined in a heat if

there are too few entries in an event. A “no-time” entry will be randomly

seeded into the slowest heats.

Clerk of

Course: There will be no Clerk of Course. Heat and lane assignments will appear

in the program. Swimmers are responsible for taking their positions

behind the block.



Time Trials: There will be no time trials held at this meet.



Scratches: Scratches should be reported in writing at the coaches’ meeting prior to

each session.



Warm Ups: Wyoming Swimming, Inc. warm up procedures will be followed. Teams

will be assigned lanes and times for warm up. The first portion of each

warm up session will be for circle swimming only with feet first entry.

The last ten minutes of each warm up session will be for racing starts and

one-way swimming only. A coach must supervise all swimmers during

warm up.



Concessions: Concessions will be available.



Final Results: Meet results can be picked up at the end of the meet. Meet results will also

be available on the WSI website at http://wyomingswimming.org. Upon

any team’s request, hard copy results will be mailed to the team address

provided.



SAFETY: USA Swimming has advised clubs to use safe warm up procedures in the

conduct of meets. No diving or jumping is allowed in the warm up lane.

Absolutely no glass containers or razors are allowed in the pool. NO

SMOKING OR TOBACCO PRODUCTS ARE ALLOWED IN THE

POOL OR ON SCHOOL GROUNDS.

Friday November 13
