A Logitech trackball mouse can give your hands a break when you spend long hours at your
computer, either working or gaming, especially if you do the same motion over and over again. If
you spend a lot of time on the computer (and most of us do these days) you know how important it
is to have equipment that doesn't put a strain on your body; mainly hands, wrists, and back. A
trackball mouse is one of those pieces of office equipment that can help out with relieving some of
that strain.
A trackball mouse differs from a traditional "point and click" mouse by being stationary. The
trackball itself controls the cursor on your computer screen. You don't need to repeatedly move
the mouse around to reposition your cursor saving some of the motion of your wrist and hand.
The trackball can be moved by fingers, thumb or palm to move the cursor. By having multiple
options you don't tend to keep using the same digit over and over again and that also helps avoid
repetitive stress injury.
Since you are no longer holding the mouse to move it, the size of the mouse isn't as much of an
issue. Too small a mouse always meant clamping your hand more tightly to keep a grip on it and
too big a mouse was awkward to use. Because you are rolling the ball instead of moving the
mouse too big or too small is no longer a problem
The other feature of a trackball mouse that I really like, which doesn't contribute much to avoiding
wrist or hand pain but makes it easier to use, is that the cursor stays put. How many times have
you positioned your cursor, returned to your keyboard and discovered your mouse had moved and
your cursor was no longer where you put it? Or have to go searching for your cursor by waving
your mouse around until you see it? Since the trackball mouse itself doesn't move, only the ball,
the cursor doesn't either unless you move it. A really nice feature if you are working on something
where you need to go back and forth between the keyboard and mouse often.
I've been using the Logitech trackball mouse for a few years and have been very pleased with it.
Since I spend long hours at the keyboard its important to me to have a mouse that doesn't add
any strain to my wrists and hands and this seems to do the trick for me. They also come in all
shapes and sizes, corded and not, so there is something for just about every need, working or
gaming.

you need something for the office or the game room, large hands or smaller ones, lots of room on
