Text: Exodus 25:23-39; 27:20-21
Exodus 25:23-30
Make a table of acacia wood – two cubits long, a cubit wide
and a cubit and a half high.
Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold moulding around
it. Also make around it a rim a handbreadth wide and put a
gold moulding on the rim.
Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the
four corners, where the four legs are.
The rings are to be close to the rim to hold the poles used in
carrying the table.
Make the poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold and
carry the table with them. And make its plates and dishes of
pure gold, as well as its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out
of offerings.
Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me
Text: Exodus 25:23-39; 27:20-21
Exodus 25:31-36
Make a lampstand of pure gold and hammer it out, base and
shaft; its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms shall be of one
piece with it.
Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand –
three on one side and three on the other.
Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and
blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch,
and the same for all six branches extending from the
lampstand.
And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like
almond flowers with buds and blossoms.
One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending
from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and
a third bud under the third pair – six branches in all.
The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the
lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.
Text: Exodus 25:23-39; 27:20-21
Exodus 25:37-39
Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that
they light the space in front of it.
Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold.
A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all
these accessories.
Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed
olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning.
Exodus 27:20-21
In the Tent of Meeting, outside the curtain that is in front of
the Testimony, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps
burning before the Lord from evening till morning.
This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for the
generations to come.
What God is Saying About Our Worship
In the Holy Place
Three Actions. Worship is...
1. Offering Your Praises to God.
2. Surrendering Your Will to God.
3. Submitting Your Mind to God.

Worship is Uplifting God with A
Sacrifice of Praise
We’re to offer a Sacrifice of Praise
“Let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of
praise – the fruit of lips that confess his
name.” Hebrews 13:15
The 3 items represent submission of our
will, mind and emotions in giving praise
to God.
2. Worship is Surrendering Your
Will to God
Leviticus 24:5-9
“Take fine flour and bake twelve loaves of bread, using
2/10 of an ephah for each loaf. Set them in two rows, six
in each row, on the table of pure gold before the Lord.
Along each row put some pure incense as a memorial
portion to represent the bread and to be an offering
made to the Lord by fire.
This bread is to be set out before the Lord regularly,
Sabbath after Sabbath, on behalf of the Israelites, as a
lasting covenant.
It belongs to Aaron and his sons, who are to eat it in a
holy place, because it is a most holy part of their regular
share of the offerings made to the Lord by fire.”
2. Worship is Surrendering Your
Will to God
Bread is a Symbol of Strength or Our Will
“…bread that sustains his heart” Psalm 104:15
Showbread or “Bread before the Face of
God”
Means our Will before the Face of God
God Wants Our Will to Align With
His Will
Your Will is the KEY in approaching God
Jesus submits His Will to His Father
“I seek not mine own will, but the will of the
Father which hath sent Me.” John 5:30
Symbolism of Table of Showbread
Fine Ground Flour I Will Submit
Moulded into Loaf I Will Conform
Baked In Fire I Will Be Purified
Placed In Order I Will Align
Covered With Incense I Will Worship
Fresh Bread Everyday Daily Submission
Eaten By Priests Personal Submission
3. Worship is Submitting Your
Mind to God
Lampstand made from Gold
Mounted with seven cups filled with
olive oil
Lampstand lit up the Holy Place
Light from Lampstand illuminates Holy
Place
God Wants Our Mind to Focus
On Him
Light from Lampstand dictates what the
Mind sees
Your mind cannot comprehend God’s
promises except through your spirit
“For who among men knows the thoughts
of a man except the man’s spirit within
him?” 1 Corinthians 2:11
“No eyes have seen, no ears have heard, no
mind has conceived what God has prepared
for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-
16
Why Your Mind Cannot
Understand God
Two Reasons:
Your mind has no knowledge of God’s
promises
Your mind rejects the things of God
“The man without the Spirit does not accept
the things that come from the Spirit of God,
for they are foolishness to him, and he
cannot understand them because they are
spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14
How to Receive Things of God
through your spirit
Renew Your Mind in Word of God
Train your carnal mind to submit to your spirit
Pray in the Spirit
Pray and interpret your tongues
“For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to
men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he
utters mysteries with his spirit … For this reason anyone
who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may
interpret what he says. For if I pray in a tongue, my
spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I
do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with
my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing
with my mind … I thank God that I speak in tongues
more than all of you.” 1 Corinthians 14:2,13-15,18
