Push aside the stevia for the time being. Go to the health store and get
some pure maple syrup. Pancakes are not the healthiest of foods by any
means, but according to the recent research, pure maple syrup is slowly
but surely taking a strong place as a “superfood.”
University of Rhode Island researchers examined the substances which are
found in maple syrup and were shocked by their discovery. A huge amount
of antioxidants — 54 to be exact!
These antioxidants found in maple syrup possess anti-inflammatory, anti-
cancer and anti-diabetic properties and can now take a seat next to other
great substances such as berries, green tea and flax seeds.
I have a feeling our friends up north already knew this.
