After the Close of Session
The close of my first session in the General Assembly on
August 11, 2009, has given me encouragement to work even
harder to represent you. The Session is over but the work con-
tinues. The work is constant and sometimes stressful but I re-
member that with everything that I do, there are over 65,000
citizens in District 110 that deserve my best. My vote will shape
the laws for the entire state. I will continue to communicate
with you during the break by email, Twitter, Facebook, the Congratulations to Cleveland County
www.pearlbfloyd.com website, town hall meetings and face to Commission for Women Heroes, Com-
face visits. missioner Jo Powell Boggs, Mrs. Lillie

gust 13-15, 2009 to learn more about the current health care
reform bill. The American heart has been traditionally cen-
tered on faith, family and country. Rarely has the American public been as actively engaged in an
issue as they are with the current health care reform.
As a healthcare professional, I realize the importance that every patient places on good health.
The energy generated by such a diverse cross-section of the American citizenry ignites that passion
for liberty that is uniquely part of the American resolve. Some say that these meetings are a distrac-
tion but I believe as most North Carolinians that attending the TEA parties and town hall meetings
creates energy and strengthens us to hold fast to the America that we love. It is an America worth
fighting to keep. As your public servant, I stand with you and will remain accountable to you “the
people.”
Thank you for the privilege to serve as your Representative.
Best,
, Pearl
