Aug. Message #1 – New early voting rules and voter registration
Dear [Employee/Associate]:
You may have heard about changes in the law regarding voting, and wondered how
those changes affect you. The fact is, it may be easier than ever for you to cast your
ballot in Ohio due to the implementation of the state’s new Early Voting system. Voters
could always cast absentee ballots if certain specific circumstances prevented them
from traveling to the polls on Election Day. Now, every voter has the right to vote early,
either through the mail or in person at your county Board of Elections office, starting
Oct. 3.
To request a no-fault absentee ballot through the mail, simply print the form found at
this link, fill it out, and return it to your county Board of Elections prior to noon on Nov. 4:
http://www.prosperityfund.net/abs_forms/generic.pdf. To vote in person, you must visit
your local Board of Elections office in person between Oct. 3 and Nov. 6.
New rules requiring voters to provide identification at the polling station on Election Day,
as well as the introduction of new voting machines, could lead to delays in some
locations. You can avoid potential confusion by casting your ballot early.
If you are not already registered to vote, you still have time to do so. Fill out the new
simple, one-page form found at http://www.prosperityfund.net/vr_forms/oh.pdf and
return it to your County Board of Elections by Oct. 10. You’ll be eligible to cast your
ballot not only in this important election, but for years to come!
If you need to locate your local board of elections address, you can find it here:
http://www.sos.state.oh.us/sos/ElectionsVoter/OhioElections.aspx?Section=boeDir.
Every vote makes a difference. Please take advantage of these tools to register (if
necessary) and request an early ballot.
Sincerely,
[NAME OF INDIVIDUAL OR ORGANIZATION]
