Journey into the less explored universe of own mind is the most exciting and challenging adventure that only a few dare to enjoy. - Adi W. Gunawan The opening sentence of the above is the result of my reflection in the process of the journey into the self. It turned out that the mind is a vast natural and very rarely explored by most people. The mind is the last frontier that holds so much mystery and magic. The following article examines one aspect related to the aspect of mind or emotional feelings. Last week I got a call from an old friend, let's call Budi, who laments about his situation. Much of what he was complaining. Starting from the financial condition, state of health, family situation, work environment and much more. ? My stressful nih!?, He complained. ? You say? Me? stressful. What part of you that experienced stress?? I asked as he started trying to change his mental state. ? Mean??, My friend asked and began to look confused. ? Did you say that you are stressful. I want to know which part of you that experienced heavy stress??, Ask me again. ? Yeah right. I again stress the weight. I do not understand your question?, Said Budi more confused. ? Look Bud. Human beings consist of body and mind. So what part of you that feel the stress? Agency? Must have felt. You're certainly feel bad because every form of emotion will result in the physical body. Also more important is that you need to understand aspects of your mind. The human mind consists of four components namely: thoughts, feelings, memories, and consciousness?, I replied. ? Trus ... if I'm frustrated ... Which part feel frustrated? Is not that feeling frustrated is me??, He asked curiously. Good reader. What I describe below is a summary of the results of our discussions about feelings or emotions. Every time we felt bad, mentally, it actually affected by our feelings. Aspects of this feeling will suffer every time we feel emotion? Negatively?. I purposely give quotes because in fact all emotions are good or positive. Then where it comes from emotion? What to do with the events that we experience every day? Before talking about the emotions I want to review some of the thinking process. Every event we experience neutral. There are no events good or bad. Shakespeare with a very beautiful saying,? There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so?. So, good or bad an event depends solely on the meaning given by our thoughts.
Giving meaning is actually going very fast and occurs in the subconscious mind. Examples? Suppose you're driving with ease and suddenly you are overtaking a microbus quickly and immediately stopped abruptly in front of you. You are very surprised and lucky still managed to hit the brakes so as not to hit the microbus. How do you react? In general, people will immediately angry, cursing, or swearing microbus driver. The story would be different if you had just won the main prize, Rp. 1 billion, from a bank. At that time your heart is happy. And when you disalip microbus, you will say,? Poor yes this driver. Apparently more chasing deposits. More difficult to understand economics. There's my good fortune to contribute my bit for this poor driver?. Kok You are not angry? Well, the meaning we give, from every event we experience, then will mencetus / to trigger emotions in the subconscious mind. These emotions will then determine the response / reaction. Did I say that all emotions are good. There are no negative emotions. What does that mean? You may be surprised by this statement. Is not emotion? Angry?,? Disappointed?,? Frustrated?, And the like is a negative emotion? Before I go on my account, I'd like to ask you,? How many vocabulary words, about emotions, that you mastered??. A large vocabulary that you master, the emotions, reflecting your emotional intelligence. Lho kok bisa? Most people only know a few words that represent emotions. For example the word? Angry?,? Disappointed?,? Frustrated?, Or? Stress?. Because they only mastered a few words each time the experience of emotion? Negative? then they immediately said,? I again stress?. In short all the conditions deemed stressful emotions. Is this correct? There are many words that represent emotions. Eg sad, stress, despair, disappointed, angry, happy, happiness, frustration, joy, anxiety, depression, hurt, jealousy / envy, loneliness, boredom, fear, resentment, worry, anxiety, guilt, hurt, resentment, hurt, a sense of inadequacy, resentment, feeling uncomfortable, happy, honored, and love. So what's the point of emotion? Emotion is a communication signal from the subconscious. Every emotion has a meaning and a very specific purpose which is very useful for us. But unfortunately, not many people know, bothered to find out, or truly understand the meaning contained in each emotion. For example emotion? Angry?. Why are we angry? Upset means there is hope we are not being met or we feel has been unfairly treated by others. Emotions into something negative if we are not able to interpret the message contained in the emotion. Result in a negative emotion when we controlled by it. So how can menguasa way to our emotions? Easy way. We need to understand that the logical mind and emotions can not be active at the same time. One must master the other. So, if the dominant emotion is a logical mind can not work. And vice versa. When the logical mind is on the emotion loses its influence. This can happen because of real feeling or emotion is a form of mind as well. By changing the mind is the feeling will change. The easiest way to control and eliminate the negative influence of an emotion is to do an analysis or to find out the meaning in every emotion you're feeling. Suppose you very angry. Rather than dissolve in your anger, do the analysis. This is not easy. But you must discipline to force yourself to do the analysis. How? Ask yourself,? Why am I angry??,?
Is it because my mood is not good anymore or there are other reasons??,? Is it true that I have been treated unfairly by others??,? Is it true emotion I feel right now is the emotion of anger??,? Do I have to give the proper meaning of what I experienced??, What can I do but dissolve in anger??. When you ask yourself the same time you begin to shift focus. When you are looking for answers to your questions at the same instant your logical mind to work and become dominant. If you often perform analysis of your feelings then you will increasingly recognize yourself and your wisdom will arise. What about the emotion of fear? Fear is an emotion that is very positive. What did it mean? The emotion of fear is the communication signals sent by the subconscious to the conscious mind with the message that there will be something in the future, where you feel not ready to deal with it. In other words, the emotion of fear is carrying a message? Anticipation?. For example? When you want to test thesis. You feel afraid. Now, rather than just fear, you must prepare yourself seriously. You are afraid because you feel ready. So ... prepare yourself better. Simple, right? What about other emotions? For example boredom. Boredom means what we are doing now is less challenging. That's why we are bored. Then, what should be done? We need to set a target which is slightly higher than usual, so we feel the challenge and encouragement to work harder. So, be happy when you are feeling up and down an emotion. You will get wiser as it gets a message from the teacher of wisdom. Oh yes, one more thing. Even if you do not want to analyze or do not know the meaning of an emotion you're feeling, you just remain silent or refrain follow your emotions. Why? Because emotion at the thought. Now appears, after a moment longer to disappear. Appears again, then disappeared again. Adi W.
