PE Enrichment Clusters
PE Enrichment Clusters are a way to broaden the Physical
Education Program, offering a wide variety of unique activities to
children that they otherwise may not experience in a typical class
setting. The goal of Enrichment Clusters is to:
Promote physical activity outside the Physical Education
classroom (2.5, 2.6)
Develop skills to support a healthy, active lifestyle (2.1, 2.5, 2.6)
Enhance students’ knowledge of lifetime physical activity so they
may pass on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle to others
(2.1, 2.2)
Enrichment Clusters will be available for 4th and 5th grade students
during their outdoor recess time on Wednesday and Thursday (weather
permitting). Parent forms need to be signed in order for a student to
participate that day. Proper attire and materials may be required for student
participation in a specific cluster.
The next Enrichment Cluster being offered is Healthy Cooking. This
cluster will involve creating healthy snacks and keeping a recipe booklet. In
order to participate, students MUST bring in various food items. Our first
cluster meeting will be Wednesday, December 1, 2010.
Please indicate any food allergies your child may have (please indicate if
the allergy is from touching the food or ingesting it). If your child would
like to participate in this cluster, please sign and return the form below to
Mrs. Pickett.
