Magic Number Game- How To Book 5-53 Pick any number, double it, add 10, divide by
2, subtract the original number. The answer is always 5.

goal they would like to achieve in school. Have them decorate the plate with
glitter, beads, etc. and hang in their room to remind them of their goal.

#3 Boys often take part in Wax Museum, Science Fair, Choir, Assembly, etc.
#6 Have person from other country come and teach games from their country, talk about
the culture, and teach how to count to ten or other words.

on boys backs. Have them figure out their job by asking other boys yes or no
questions about what they do.
#10 Label blocks (wooden or duplo) different positions in school system. Challenge boys

#10 Have leader pretend to be misbehaving student, and have boys pretend to be
different people in school system, and deal with the problem.
#11 Have boys make list about what boys like or dislike about their school. Invite
several adults for a panel discussion. Let boys ask about how school was similar
and different, what they like about the boys school, what can be improved. See if
the boys lists are similar to the adults.
#13 Invite younger children to come to scouts. Have scouts teach them something, help
with their homework, read to them, or help them read.
#7 Make an Abacus-
Materials: Shoe box lid, Yarn or thick twine or string, hole punch, 110 pony beads
Evenly punch 10 holes in the long edges of the shoe box lid. Make sure the holes on each
side line up with the ones on the other side of the box lid. Tie a bead to one end of the
string. Draw string through the top hole, place 9 beads on the string, then draw the string
through the bottom hole. Draw string tight, and tie on another bead. Repeat with the
#7 Styrofoam Cup Computers
Materials: 2 styrofoam cups with wide lips, Fine point permanent marker
Place one cup inside the other. Write the multiplication table for one number on the outer
cup. Example 1 x 6, 2 x 6, 3 x 6, etc. Write the answers spaced to match the problems
on the lip of the inside cup.
To use, make a set of cups for each of the multiplication tables. Mix up the cups and
challenge the boys to put them together correctly.
