Pontiac Used Cars- The Solstice Pontiac used cars like there popular roadster (the Solstice) was first introduced back in 2006 and was very much in vogue for North American consumers who love all types of different roadsters. What makes this vehicle so popular with consumers is its price range, design and it's handling for a car that most insiders say was a rushed job. This vehicle competes against the like of the Saturn Sky and the Mazda Miata which is much more expensive than the Solstice. With such a unique look to this car, I decided to do my research on the Pontiac Solstice as a used vehicle to look at. The exterior design of the Solstice has a nice look to it with its most distinguished feature, the reverse hinged forward opening hood, which opens up almost like a shell. The Pontiac Solstice uses the traditional Pontiac dual port grille for its frontal design and uses a standard 18-inch aluminum tire to drive on. This two seated roadster has a wraparound instrument panel that makes everything easy to read and use including the speedometer and engine gauges. The Solstice uses a Monsoon seven speaker stereo system and supports MP3 and WMA playback and XM satellite radio is an option. There were two fuel statistics for the various engines the Pontiac Solstice has to offer. The 2.4-litre engine has a fuel rating of 11.9-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 7.6-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. The turbo charged engine has a fuel rating of 10.8-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 7.0-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. It also has been written in a Pontiac Solstice web forum that if you choose an automatic 2.4-litre engine, it has a better fuel rating for city driving. Pontiac used cars like the Solstice in 2007 used a four cylinder, 2.0-litre, turbo charged engine and this produced 260 horsepower. For its base model the Solstice incorporates a four cylinder, 2.4-litre engine and this produces 177 horsepower, with 166 pounds per feet of torque. A five speed manual transmission is standard. Let's look at some of the pros and cons of the Pontiac Solstice as a used vehicle: 1- A leading online consumer watch dog reports that there is problem with the intercoolers for the turbocharged models. 2- The same leading online consumer watchdog gives the Solstice a bad rating for a used car to buy. 3- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Solstice a four star rating for a frontal passenger crash test done to it. I hope this helps if you're looking at Pontiac used cars like the Solstice. used cars in maryland
