Old Cars for Sale
I am a total car freak and I specialize in old cars put up in the market since they come at a low price and give
excellent value for money. I always gets lots of mails from readers asking for tips regarding how to choose
from the various old cars for sale.
Budget/Price This should be finalized before you enter the market or else you will be looking at a lot of
cars. Having a fixed budget will give you a shorter shortlist to choose from. Then start looking at the cars
that are within the budget. Also remember to keep some money aside for the repairs or maintenance that
may be required. If you are looking at old cars for sale then it would be stupid to expect a perfect car.
Requirements Decide what all do you need in a car. Also decide what type of car you are going to buy. If
you have a lot of members in your family, get the SUV but if you have just 3-4 people, buy a smaller car and
save on the money. Also check if the mileage of the car suits your requirements. Finally, decide what type of
engine do you want diesel or petrol. There are dealers having all types of old cars for sale so there wont
have any problems finding the right one for you.
Fuel consumption Fuel prices are fluctuating a lot and hence mileage has become a matter of concern. If
you are looking at old cars for sale at online merchants, you will find that all of them mention the estimated
mileage of the vehicle. Always assume that the mileage of the vehicle will be 2-4 km/litre less than what is
shown there.
Check the history of the car This is really important because it will give you an idea about what to expect
from the car. A car with a petrol engine will give an average of 12,000 km per year whereas a diesel engine
car will average around 15,000 km/year. These figures can be relaxed by around ten percent provided the
condition of the car is good. However, if the car has traveled more than this distance then I would advice
you not to purchase the car. If a three year old car has run more than 50,000 km, then it is not advisable to
buy the vehicle unless it is really cheap. Age of the car too is really important. Dont get a really old car
because you will be spending a lot of money on maintenance and repairs.
I usually recommend people to look for cars on the Internet. Most big car manufacturers have their own car
business wings. You can contact these dealers directly or purchase through the internet. There are a lot of
dealers offering old cars for sale. If you dont rely on the Internet, you can go through the advertisements on
local newspaper classifieds. There are some excellent deals for used cars there. Tick the options that you
want and then. Finally, keep an eye open on the any of the auctions that might take place in your
neighborhood. I have found some excellent cars in these places.
