Kelley Blue Book Reveals New Search Tool for Used Cars
Kelley Blue Book is trying out a new used car search tool called 'The Trusted Marketplace'. Kelley Blue
Book is obviously hoping that they can be the middle-man between car dealers and consumers looking to
purchase used cars, and that this new website tool could be the perfect solution. It is an intriguing concept,
and one which really makes a lot of sense on paper, because as consumers we already trust the numbers that
Kelley Blue Book gives us for our car values. But now that they have the ability to do it, will we also turn to
them to find us the used car choices that we want to select from? That's the million dollar question right
there.
With is the Kelley Blue Book solution to all of our new and used car searches and selections. What they had
done is create a portal where users can go and find new and used cars in our area, the local dealer inventory
of the models we are looking for, and even free dealer price quotes. It's an innovation to the Kelley Blue
Book website that seems like it should have been there all along, and one which could get a lot of use if
people come to trust the sources of the Kelley Blue Book information. The real key to whether or not 'The
Trusted Marketplace' takes off, is if the sites providing all of the information to them are accurate and quick
on providing said car listings.
This is an obvious attempt by Kelley Blue Book to set themselves entirely apart from some of the other
major used inventory websites on the net right now, most of which Kelley Blue Book has also worked with
in the past. The understood industry leaders in that regard are cars.com and autotrader.com which both have
listings in the millions, and Kelley Blue Book seems to want a piece of the pie to themselves. I guess as a
concept this is the perfect way to do things. First Kelley Blue Book draws people to the website to find out
the values of their car that they want to look up, and then they entice them with a search engine designed to
find them exactly what they are looking for in the market. It would work for someone looking to trade their
car in and wanting to find the value first, and then the best possible deal out there.
The major obstacle for Kelley Blue Book is going to be getting people interested in using their website to
search for cars. People are going to have to find immediate results or they aren't going to stick around, and if
people do searches that come up with nothing in their area, it will leave them with a bad taste in their mouth
in regards to using this Kelley Blue Book tool. With more and more people turning to the internet to do
research on their cars and their next car purchases, this is a market that is still open to someone that can
monopolize everything that a consumer would look for in their searching. If Kelley can provide that "one-
stop-shop" experience, they could be sitting on a gold mine here.
