Sarah Palin's mother-in-law is slamming media reports claiming she is uncertain about who she will vote for in the U.S. presidential election this November. Palin is the governor of Alaska and the Republican vice president nominee. "There is absolutely no question, I'm going to vote for the Republican ticket of John McCain and Sarah Palin," Palin's mother-in-law, Faye, told TV's "Inside Edition." "Casual conversations get turned into things taken out of context, which, from my experience, was extremely hurtful. As newcomers to this arena that's a lesson we're going to have to learn and I find that sad," Faye Palin said of reports stating she wasn't sure who she would vote for this fall. "To have it twisted, I find it personally offensive." The exclusive "Inside Edition" interview with Faye Palin is to air Wednesday. Faye tells INSIDE EDITION she was horrified when she saw the headline: "To have [my words] twisted, I was personally offended." In fact, the Palins say they were the ones who suggested Sarah get into politics in the first place. When she was just 28, four years after she worked as a local TV sportscaster, they encouraged her to run for the city council of Wasilla, Alaska. At first she was reluctant. "We chatted with Sarah, and the first couple of times, she said, 'No, I don't think so...I don't think so,' " says Faye. But she did run, got elected...and the rest is history. Jim and Faye Palin – Faye is actually Todd Palin's step-mother – have known Sarah since she began dating Todd in high school. The couple eloped in 1988, and got married in secret, on the Palins' own anniversary. Here's how they found out: "There was a flower in a vase with a note on it, on the hood of the car that said, 'It seemed like a good day to get married, so we got married. Happy anniversary to you guys,' " Todd Palin, who works in the family commercial fishing business, is also an avid outdoorsman. When Sarah became the Governor of Alaska in 2006, he got a distinguished title of his own. "They call him the 'First Dude,' " says Jim Palin.
And while Faye Palin says she supports Sarah, Sarah has not always supported her. In 2002, when Faye ran for mayor of Wasilla, Sarah endorsed her opponent. But that's all in the past and Faye insists, despite those headlines, she is behind her daughter-in-law 100%. "There is absolutely no question that I'm going to vote for the Republican ticket of John McCain and Sarah Palin," says Faye.
