LETTER TO FASHION COMMUNITY 08/25/2008 August 20, 2008 We are sure you are busy preparing for your Spring 2009 collection but we hope you will take a moment to remember two important issues. This season we have established a signature drive in support of the CFDA Health Initiative’s recommendations (see attached). The CFDA has collected over 200 signatures so far. If you haven’t already given us your signature, we encourage you to do so now (email to d.billinkoff@cfda.com or messenger to us at address below) and please remember the guidelines when casting your shows. This September, the CFDA will have booths in the lobby and backstage at the Bryant Park tents, where we will continue our drive to collect signatures of supporters and will promote beauty as health in the fashion industry. Women’s Wear Daily has kindly given us a full-page ad in the September 3 issue, which will feature the recommendations along with the signatures of supporters. Additionally, we remain in full support of bringing more diversity to the runway and urge you to create shows that are truly multicultural. The fashion industry has great power.
