Landform Project - Choose either Option 1 or Option 2.
(Each option is worth 25 points.)
Name: _________________ Class period: _____ Due date: ___________
Option 1
Design your own country on a poster…and learn
about landforms at the same time!
Imagine that you get to design your own country.
1. Pick a name for your country and write it on your poster.
2. Plan what you would like your country to look like. (A rough draft is a good idea!)
3. Make sure you plan to include as many landforms as you have been assigned.
4. To the best of your ability, draw your country on the poster paper provided. Please color
it, using either colored pencils or crayons.
My country’s name: __________________________
**For three “above and beyond” points, create a country with a theme. For example, you could create a
Sesame Street island with a different landform belonging to each character.** If you choose to take
advantage of this opportunity, write the theme of your island here: _____________________.
Option 2 Create a book about landforms!
Imagine that you have been hired to write a book about landforms.
1. Pick a title for your book. Put the title on your title page and on the line below.
2. The text for your book must be typed. The pictures must be drawn by hand and colored
with colored pencils or crayons.
3. Use the template provided. It is saved in Microsoft Word. Go to File → Open → public
on ads → Junior High → Haugan → Geography → Landforms book template. Save this to
your student file.
4. Make sure you plan to include as many landforms as you have been assigned.
5. Each page should include a picture of one landform and at least one fact or sentence
about it.
6. SAVE YOUR WORK FREQUENTLY!
My book’s title: __________________________
**For three “above and beyond” points, create a story book, not just a book of facts. For example, you
could write a story called Mrs. Haugan’s Awesome Vacation and write a story about your favorite
geography teacher going on vacation. Each page must still contain a picture of one landform and at least
one complete sentence.**
I must illustrate and label _____ landforms on my poster
OR
create a book with one page for each of my _____ landforms.
(Choose these landforms from your Landforms List.)
