The Coachella Valley is in Riverside County California and it hosts such cities as Palm Springs,
which is well known as a desert resort community and get away. It is one of the major travel
destinations in California in fact. Still, many people don't realize that there are over 500,000 people that
reside throughout the Coachella Valley now, and it is separated from other Southern California markets
due to its distance from any large cities.

Luckily, due to the tourist monetary inflows from all over the world, money coming in, in
Euros, and Canadian dollars too, this region has been growing steadily. Due to the tourism that it is
widely known for, and the vacation homes and resorts, with over 200 golf courses many people are
employed in the hospitality industry. The extreme heat in the summer time drives away the wealthy
folks, although there are still some 350,000 + full year time residents there.

This makes it tough considering that there is also low income farm labor on the east side of the
valley, which doesn't really do much in the summer time because that is not the growing season. So
things are a little slow during the summer months, but the city swells to an unbelievable number of
people during the winter months and the snowbird season, where people come to their second, third, or
fourth homes and spend their time in perfect 70-degree weather during the wintertime.

Each year more and more residents decide to stay full-time, and many retirees come to the area
due to the lower cost structure, and a very nice weather in the wintertime. For three months out of the
year it is extremely hot and often pushes over 110-degree. Still, it is a very nice community and in the
summer there is still some economic viability, even when the hundreds of millions of dollars are not
pouring in each week during the wintertime. Perhaps you will consider all this.
