Waldo is a city in Alachua County, Florida, United States.
The population was 821 at the 2000 census. According to
the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2004 estimates, the city had a
population of 784.
The city has received national attention and earned
the ominous distinction of being one of only two official
speed traps designated by the American Automobile As-
sociation (the other being Lawtey a few miles to the
north)[1], due to the city’s strict enforcement of the local
speed limit on U.S. Route 301 as it cuts through town.
