Clear Channel Airports Unveils New Digital Displays at
Melbourne International Airport
21st Century Technology Turns Airport Into Hi-Tech Corporate
and Community Showcase
MELBOURNE – May 6, 2011 – Capitalizing on a three month revitalization program,
Clear Channel Airports (CCA), the world's leading marketer of airport advertising, and
Melbourne International Airport, partners since 2001, today announced a new Corporate
and Community Showcase Program for area businesses and organizations.
Through this unique program, CCA is transforming the advertising environment at
Melbourne International Airport, creating a high-tech corporate and community showcase
at the strategic gateway to Florida’s Space Coast with innovative digital displays and new
technology including LCD’s, a touch screen digital kiosk, and Tension Fabric Displays.
Special showcase advertising packages will utilize the new digital technology to capture
the attention of the more than 400,000 passengers and visitors who utilize the airport
annually.
“We are pleased with the productive partnership between the Airport and Clear Channel
Airports,” said Richard Ennis, Executive Director, Melbourne International Airport. "Our
facility is the main portal to the East Central Florida’s Space Coast for business and
leisure travelers and Clear Channel’s dynamic new technology and creative displays will
help showcase the potential of our region’s leading businesses and attractions – like
Florida Institute of Technology, Harris Corp, and BRPH – for this important
demographic.”
As a focal point of the region, the Airport allows leaders in the business community to
join each other to show their support for the Airport as an economic driver and
communicate the vitality of the region by participating in the program.
“By highlighting the diverse businesses and attractions of the region, the Melbourne
International Airport serves as a warm welcome for visitors to the community while
maximizing the value of the businesses’ advertising investment,” says Clear Channel
Representative, Jennifer Vinciguerra.
A total of two new digital display screens will be placed at strategic locations in the
airport baggage claim area to provide inbound and outbound air travelers with
information and promotional messages from participants in the Showcase program.
Additionally, a digital touch screen kiosk will be placed in the baggage claim to
showcase lodging, attractions, and dining in the area.
The Corporate and Community Showcase Program is a key driver in promoting tourism
and economic development in the region. Area attractions have the opportunity to market
to a captive and upscale audience. “You can deliver a cost effective message to more than
400,000 tourists, vacationers and business leaders,” added Vinciguerra. “This audience
has the demographic profile, resources, responsibility and education that businesses need
to reach in order to succeed.”
