There are several things you will want to consider before starting a writing blog. One is the specific
focus and purpose that your blog is going to serve. Is this going to be a place to give visitors
advice about freelance writing, or somewhere to display your own online articles and writing skills?
Will the focus be on some other aspect of writing entirely? Knowing which route you're going to
take is essential before you even begin with putting together the first post of your writing blog.
There are many different choices in how to set up your blog, and what you choose can depend on
the specific focus. Word Press and Blogger are two of the most popular blogging platforms, but
there are other options out there. Maybe you write a lot on eHow and want an easy way to talk
about these articles and spreading back links. Maybe you're a former editor and staff writer who is
know being forced to go freelance and you want a chance to display your skills.
Whatever the reason, each of these goals would call for a different style of writing, a different type
of format and set up, and an overall different tone. This is part of the reason that putting together a
writing blog can be a little intimidating. You want to make sure that your blog is serving its purpose
and that the work being put in pays off for you in the way that you intended. Otherwise, what's the
point?
And if you would like to learn more about setting up a freelance writing blog please feel free to visit
either that writing blog, or my eHow progress writing blog for another example of how to set up a
writing blog that benefits you.
