National Engineer's Week Kids Science Workshop
Kids & Junior Girl Scouts & Webelos Cub Scouts are Welcome
Roper Mountain Science Center 2nd Saturday at Symmes Science Building

"Kids Engineering - Making It Matter"
Come and join Fluor Volunteers doing cool, fun, hands-on science activities.
Parents & Scout Leaders Please Note:
Scout Troops can pre-register beginning January 19th by calling 355-8901.
Come early and allow enough time in order to complete activities to earn your badge (allow 1 - 2 hours).
(This has been popular in the past for boys and girls and fills up quickly, all kids are welcome.)
A free Checklist will be provided for each participant to validate items completed.
Fees: Roper Mountain charges entry fees as follows: Free - 5 years and under & RMSC members & school district
employees, $4 - 6-12 years & seniors, $5 - teens & adults. There is no other fee to participate in the workshop.
Roper Mountain requires adults accompany all kids 13 years and under.
The activities to be covered will be:
1. Learn what Engineers do
2. Polymer Possibilities
3. Label Checks
4. Base-ic Facts: Is it Acid or Base?
5. Make an electrical circuit
6. Make a block and tackle
7. Materials, Structures and Bridges
8. Computers in Engineering
9. Learn How Electricity gets to your house
10. Draw a floor plan of your house
These will fulfill requirements for Junior Girl Scout badge, Making It Matter; and Webelos Cub Scout badge, Engineering.
