Description
Abstract: The Indigent Care Collaboration of Central Texas conducted a study of
the possible over-crowding of emergency departments in the Central
Texas area. A total of 12 hospitals were monitored in a tri-county area
that included Hays, Travis and Williamson counties. Data was
collected for a period of one year, starting January 1, 2003 and ending
December 31, 2003. The data set provided by ICC includes 418,362
individual patient files and provides the following information for each
individual: Time and Day of Visit, Age, Sex, Zip Code and Payment
Method.

Abstract: Cen-Tex GeoData Solutions conducted a study that evaluated the
availability and accessibility of hospitals and health clinics in the
Central Texas counties of Hays, Williamson, and Travis. Data were
collected from sources including the Indigent Care Collaboration of
Central Texas and individual hospital and clinic websites. Types of
data collected included address, phone number, and hours of operation.
These data were then brought into ArcMap and geocoded to create an
accurate map of the hospital and health clinic locations.
