When researchers were investigating the Kegel exercise as a possible aid for conditions such as
urinary incontinence and helping pregnant women give birth, they were amazed that women who
used it also reported increased control over their orgasms. As time has gone on we now know that
many of those benefits are true. Kegel exercises look likely to be the easiest way for men and
women to gain control over their sexual function.
The Female Kegel
As if the sexual benefits were not enough, women also gain a host of other health benefits. In fact
it is so good for a woman's health that many gynecologists recommend that all women do them!
The exercise is almost the same as the male Kegel exercise, imagining that you are trying to stop
urination. The only exception is that women need to concentrate as much energy as possible on
really holding the muscles closed for as long as possible. This exercise should also be mixed with
rapid closing for the maximum benefits.
As you come to orgasm, really squeeze the muscles as tight as possible. You want to aim to hold
this for the duration of your orgasm. If you did it correctly, you should experience a longer and
more intense orgasm. Pushing outwards (Like a reverse Kegel) will enable you to help ejaculate
more easily (Yes, these are possible for all women!). Similarly clenching the penis during
penetration will help you orgasm from sex which some women find difficult.
There are also a number of devices designed to make performing Kegel exercises as easy as
possible. This is the Kegel exercise equivalent of a power-lifting workout!
How to Perform the Male Kegel
The male Kegel is easy to perform because you have probably performed it many times without
realizing it. Every time you have tensed the muscles to close the hole at the tip of your penis while
peeing you have unknowingly performed a Kegel exercise!
The muscle that controls this movement is called the pubococcygeus muscle and it can be
exercised anywhere by performing that movement. When you first start doing Kegel exercises, you
will want to just get used to the feeling of closing your urinary opening. As you start to improve
start squeezing for as long as possible, really feeling the tension. At first you will probably only be
able to squeeze for a short period of time, however with practice you will soon be able to hold it for
longer.
Once you can hold it for as long as you want you can start using it during sex. What you want to
do is build yourself up to a powerful orgasm. As you pass the 'point of no return,' you will want to
hold the squeeze for the duration of your orgasm. Probably the first couple of times you will
ejaculate. That is okay, enjoy the orgasm, however eventually you should find that when you
come, you don't release any semen. You should then be able to have another orgasm. With
practice you can learn complete control over your orgasms and then you can last as long or short
as you like.
On top of this Kegel exercises have the benefit of giving men a lower risk of erectile dysfunction.
Therefore this exercise may be just what you need.
