I make smoothies twice a day and this is the best blender I've ever owned.
I had a Black and Decker $30 blender before this one that I used twice a
day for about a decade. I never had a single problem with it u ntil the B&D
blender just up and died one day. For the holidays, I got my boyfriend the
Breville juicer and he loves it. I figured Breville must be a great brand. I
was so hesitant to buy this because of all the reviews about the leaks. I
went to Macy's to check out this Breville blender and the lady in the store
and I got to chatting and she told me that she has one of these at home
and that it's the greatest small appliance she owns. She wasn't trying to
sell me on it since she told me to come back the following week for the
sale.
I mustered up the guts and bought the Breville Blender refurbished online.
What an amazing deal. For under a hundred bucks, I got the blender and
the smoothie recipe book. The blender works awesome and I love it. I
usually don't write such detailed reviews for products, but sometimes it's
worth it so other people know. The consistency of smoothies is perfect.
The speeds are perfect (although I don't use the smoothie function often
because I like to regulate the speed myself). It's much quieter than most
blenders and has a really nice design.
I have an online business myself and know all to well how one bad review
can scare off many many people from shopping somewhere or buying a
specific product. The leaking problem occurs when the bottom part isn't
tightened well. I figured this out after a few trials. If you use the instrument
provided for loosening to tighten it, you're fine. If you're strong enough, you
can probably tighten it by hand without it.
In conclusion, after a few weeks of regular use, I love my new blender and
I'm glad my other one stopped working so that I could get the latest
technology in blenders. Be ready for some non-standard cleaning, but if
you use your blender a lot, it's worth trying this one and apprecia ting it for
what it is.
