                                 Group Study Exchange 2010 GSE-Turkey

Doug Fowler, District Governor Elect. Group Study Exchange. Lead a Group Study Exchange to
Turkey in 2008 from May 5 – June 8. He shared great experiences with us through a slide show,
stories and a geography lesson. They visited a large number of diverse communities and were
hosted by Rotarians throughout the country. They visited banks, an armament factory, law
enforcement agencies, other government offices, the Barilla pasta factory and schools. They ate
sheep intestines and drank tea. Turkey is about the size of our State of Texas. The GSE team,
which consisted of the team leader, 3 women, and a man, was given VIP service everywhere they
went and they were always greeted with Tea. Serving as GSE Team Leader is an opportunity of a lifetime and
is offered each year.
