McCain to lead Richards Middle
The Gwinnett County Board of Education
approved the appointment of Mark McCain as the
new principal of Richards Middle. The School
Board approved the recommendation made by
CEO/Superintendent J. Alvin Wilbanks during the
Board of Education’s regular monthly meeting on
August 19. Mr. McCain’s appointment is effective
August 23.

Mr. McCain is a graduate of the school system’s 2009 Quality-Plus Leadership
Academy. He takes the helm of Richards Middle, succeeding Reginald Kirkland who
is pursuing opportunities outside the district. Richards Middle opened this school
year under the leadership of Karen Robinson, a principal mentor and former Shiloh
Middle principal.
