POSITION TITLE: Insurance Counselor

DIVISION: Insurance

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position will enhance Member Value through the sales and service of insurance
products. An insurance counselor generates revenue for the Agency to reduce the Club’s
dependency on dues income. Properly placed new business insurance policies support
Agency objectives, optimize profitability with MAIG and maintain long-term relationships
with Agency Carriers.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
   Solicit business, qualify applicants, counsel customers concerning coverage and/or
      policy changes, quote insurance rates, and accurately complete new insurance
      applications
   Place customers in appropriate market using company and Agency prescribed
      guidelines
   Successfully navigate required computer applications (MPS, CRM, carrier
      application, Intranet, contact management system)
   Recognize and maintain fiduciary responsibility to collect down payments and
      premiums and to protect customers’ confidentiality and privacy in accordance with
      Club and regulatory requirements
   Execute and facilitate Insureds’ service requests, while anticipating account rounding
      and cross-selling opportunities
   Complete training, continued education, and professional development programs, as
      required
   As approved by management, represent AAA Mid-Atlantic Insurance Agency in
      public forums to enhance networking and sales opportunities
   Support the sales and service of all Club products and benefits
   Complete related tasks and duties as directed by Agency Management (and Retail
      Office Managers as appropriate)
   At a minimum, devote 50% (fifty percent) of efforts to new business sales and/or
      retention of existing Agency business, based upon priority of responsibilities as
      assigned by management.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  Experience:
   Associate's degree or equivalent work experience/education
   2 years of customer service or sales experience in an Insurance environment or
      related industry (e.g., financial services, banking, etc.) or equivalent

   Requirements:
    Property & Casualty licenses required within 90 days from hire date
    Specialized skills acquired through job experience, training, and/or education
    Interpret and/or analyze complex work situations
    Works independently with only general guidance

POSITION TITLE: General Homeowner Claims Adjuster

DIVISION: Insurance

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
   Provide thorough investigation, inspection, appraisal, and settlement of large,
      complex homeowner claims. Also completes quality control reviews of estimates of
      damages prepared by staff and independent appraisers.
   Performs various functions of claims processing which includes verifying coverage,
      determining the applicability of the coverage to the facts of the loss, determining the
      extent of liability or exposure, securing reports and statements, and arranging for
      inspections of damaged property.
   Sets reserves within authorized limits and recommends reserve changes to
      management when necessary.
   Physically inspects estimates and evaluates the all aspects of the claim associated
      damage.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
   Handles complex homeowner claims including making decisions and
      recommendations regarding settlement values in the disposition of those claims
   Secures agreed-upon repair prices with insureds and/or their representatives and
      contractors; assigns and monitors experts as necessary; negotiates and settles claims
      with insureds, public adjusters, and/or attorneys which include inspecting and
      writing damages appraisals
   Effectively applies best claims practices and delivers superior claims service
   Provides oversight to defense counsel in the handling of lawsuits
   Reinspects and evaluates estimates for damages prepared by staff and IA's
   Indentifies salvage and subrogation potential and works to maximize recoveries
   Performs related work activities and completes special projects as directed

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to accurately investigate and evaluate a claim, conduct a thorough investigation,
conduct interviews, secure official reports, and negotiate settlements, as well as
demonstrated knowledge of legal procedures at a level normally acquired through the
completion of an Associates degree, or equivalent business-related experience, and eight
years experience in property adjusting, with eight years outside, utilizing a thorough
advanced knowledge of unit costs, and time, materials and techniques of the repair and
construction of residential property with the demonstrated ability to write estimates in excess
of $100,000.00.
     Candidate must have successfully completed insurance related self-development
         courses.
     Candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
     Ability to travel to all territories handled by the company and stay overnight as
         business needs require.
     Candidate must have a valid Delaware Adjusters license.
     Must be able to carry and use a ladder weighing up to 20 lbs and be comfortable with
         heights to evaluate building damages.
     Candidate must possess a valid drivers' license to enable travel to property locations.
