The most frequently asked question is, 'how much will a website cost'? The cost of website
development can vary from free to tens of thousands of dollars. Paying more does not necessarily
mean that you will get a better website.
It is important to determine your goals and find a developer that will work with you to achieve

starting off with a draft of all the content that needs to be included in your site and organizing that

A free website can be developed by using a tool a simple as MS Word – these are called
WYSIWYG, What You See Is What You Get.
MS Word is capable of saving a document as HTML and then all that is required is purchasing a
domain and finding a webspace to upload your HTML to.
These are far from ideal, lacking in fundamental features that help people find your site, formatting
to help you update it easily, form features, login facilities, ect.
Comparing prices and service
Be aware that website design is not like hiring a plumber to change a washer; the service will vary
considerably. Some web designers use programs like Dreamweaver to design your website, while
others will hand code your website in standards compliant HTML. The end result is very different.
Some designers will happily take your 50% deposit and build you a website that they think will be
right for your business (or will look good in their portfolio) and you can take it or leave it, like it or
lump it.

might prove more suitable and cost effective.
Larger websites
A CMS solution would be a better choice for larger websites. Currently we do not offer this to
customers as a standard but if your looking for a cheap CMS solution you could be our first project
and we will develop this with you and you’ll not pay for the end product, but only a small fee for
the time spent working on your product (excluding time spent learning the skills)

Design – the next stage
If you agree with the quotation, we will contact you to discuss the website in
more detail and begin designing your homepage. We will send you a
temporary website address, so that you can view the homepage and make
changes if required. Once the homepage design is agreed upon, the other
pages will adopt the same look and feel and therefore, you must be sure that
the homepage design is exactly right before we move on to the next pages.
You will also need to choose keywords, page descriptions and titles for each
page of your website. This is for search engines to properly index your
website. We will provide you with detailed instructions on researching
keywords and keyword phrases.
Once homepage design has been finalized, we will then implement the other
web pages for review on a temporary URL.
You are required to review the draft website and let us know if there are any
changes required. In order to issue competitive quotes, we do not
allow for major changes or lots of minor changes, after the draft homepage
has been agreed upon. We try to be as flexible as possible, by clients should
be aware that it is during the drafting of the homepage and/or additional
templates that any problems or requested changes need to be made then and
not after all the pages have been implemented. We try and minimize double
work and additional charges by asking customers to follow our set process. In
most cases, the final price of website development is the quoted price and
client's get the finished website that they are happy with.
Once you are satisfied we will then implement your website to your hosting
account.

Domains and Website Hosting
Archaon Webdesign can arrange domain name registration, website hosting,
email accounts and website administration (if required). If you are developing
a static website and have an existing web hosting provider that you wish to
use, we will upload the website to your account during the development
process.
If you do not already have hosting facilities we use our space to temporarily
store your site through early development stages, and guide you through the
steps to secure your new hosting provider where we then host your website.
Testing
After completing the website, we test periodically to ensure that there are no
broken links, that static HTML websites are XHTML compliant and functionality
like webforms, ordering and autoresponders are working.
Annual checkup
You might be interested in our continued services, so with your permission we
will contact you on the anniversary of your project to see how everything is
and see if you require further services.
