Thursday March 9: Managing Your Career: Moving In and Out of the Public Sector
Location: Illini Center, 200 South Wacker Drive, Chicago (near Quincy CTA Station serving Brown, Purple, and
Orange Lines)
Changes in the public sector workplace impact us all, whether we work in the public sector, or rely on it
for funding or assistance. Hear from those with first-hand public sector experience and how they
remained independent of or weathered political fallout; learned to manage diminishing funding sources
and budget crunches; and look forward as the baby boomers begin to retire in unprecedented numbers.
Moderator: Sharon Mastracci, Assistant Professor, UIC Public Administration. Prof. Mastracci will share her
findings from a recent report on federal government work arrangements.
