oder DER!
Germany is undergoing rapid and dramatic
changes, both in its social structure and its
economy. In German 215 you will learn about these
changes and also learn how to keep yourself on top
of future changes by means of various resources,
especially the internet.
If you think your career choice might involve
you in some aspect of business, don’t overlook
the increasing globalization of the business
world.
American and foreign companies are merging
at a growing rate, a development which shows
no sign of letting up.
Increasingly, American economic interests are
heavily invested in what’s going on elsewhere
in the world.
German 215 will not only expand your abilities in German but it will also
teach you about the similarities and the differences between business
practices in Germany and the United States. Topics such as the
European Union, the Euro, advertising, tourism, and consumer and
environmental issues will be covered. You will also learn the basics of
business correspondence.
GER 215 is open to anyone who has completed GER 104 or the equivalent. Its aim
is to help prepare you for the Prüfung Wirtschaftsdeutsch International, a
prestigious and universally recognized examination of business language skills in
German. You will also find this course very helpful in preparing for a business
internship in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland.
German 215 will be offered in the fall, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45 in LH 321.
The course number is 19519
