Now and then, you hear that reading is dead, but this is easily debunked by spending a little time at Goodreads. Goodreads is a book-oriented social network where a lot of people spend a lot of time talking about a lot of books. Everything on Goodreads is on a large and energetic scale. It has all kinds of books, from today's best-sellers to centuries-old classics and from fantasy series to demanding scientific monographs. There are more than 6 million members worldwide, representing every reading taste, from Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series to Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations. The term "social network" hardly does justice to this giant online book club, which has elements of Amazon, Wikipedia, Facebook, and Twitter. Goodreads members are busy folks. Goodreads has many moving parts, but everything runs smoothly. All of the sections are deftly woven together, allowing you to maneuver easily throughout the network.
MICK O’LEARY Twilight, and neither are you (I hope).
