Guaranteed Professional Program Admissions (GPPA)
School of Public Health-Conditions of Acceptance Fall 2009
Undergraduate Program Requirements:
Students admitted to the Guaranteed Professional Programs Admissions (GPPA) in Public Health must
maintain at least a 3.24 undergraduate grade point average (A=4.00).
Undergraduate course requirements for each division are as follows:
Community Health Sciences- one course in human biology
Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences- undergraduate courses in differential and
integral calculus, inorganic and organic chemistry, and human physiology.
Epidemiology- an undergraduate major in biological or social sciences or mathematics.
Biostatistics- an undergraduate major in mathematics or biology and at least one year of college
calculus.
Health Policy and Administration- an undergraduate background in a biological, physical, or
social science.
GPPA students will also be expected to participate in seminars and other extra curricular activities at the
School of Public Health during the undergraduate studies. In the senior year students must take the
Graduate Record Examination (GRE). The test is required for reporting purposes only.
Having completed each of these requirements a seat will be reserved in a Public Health graduate or
professional program of the applicant’s choice.
