& The Heritage Chorale of Lancaster &

presents its Spring 2011 Concert under the artistic direction of Barry L. Sawyer

The Heritage Chorale looks to Mozart’s Te Deum as the highpoint of our spring program. Dedicated to

expressions of hope, love and praise by composers spanning more than 500 years, this program mixes different

musical styles and music from different traditions. Mozart wrote the Te Deum when he was 13, reflecting the

work of Haydn, his much admired senior contemporary, while animating this traditional liturgical prayer of

praise in his own style. If Ye Love Me and A New Commandment by Thomas Tallis, Salvation is Created by

Pavel Tschesnokoff, and Hear My Prayer by Moses Hogan are some of the other pieces in the program, which

concludes with Look to the Day, a new song by John Rutter. Love for God, love for one another, and hope for a

better tomorrow are universal themes uniting this wonderful music.

The Heritage Chorale of Lancaster is a 48-member chorale dedicated to excellence in the choral art form. With

a repertoire spanning the 16th through 20th centuries, the chorale has performed at Colonial Williamsburg,

Longwood Gardens, the Washington National Cathedral, and at churches and historical institutions throughout

the Lancaster County area. Chorale members are choral enthusiasts drawn from near and far and from all walks

of life to share their love of choral singing. Visit our website www.theheritagechorale.org for further information.
