INTRODUCTION

• A brief history
Meta-Con design was established as a Sole Proprietorship concern in 2000 to bring new
ideas in the market by providing a platform to young emerging architects and designers.
Our vision is to carve a new shape to the traditional services being offered by designers
and architect firms in the current market. Our mission is to strive for making dreams and
visions of our clients into reality.

• Areas of Operations
The business operations are carried out from our office situated in Lahore, the heart of
Pakistan’s business and cultural life. Based in Lahore, we have provided services to our
customers throughout the country.
We are determined to provide services of supreme quality in the fields of Interior
designing, architectural design, consultancy and model making.

To achieve our goal we have acquired the expertise of people renowned in their
respective fields who bear matchless vigor and ambition and can pave way to our
success. In the past several years we have had experience of working for well known
organizations including National Bank of Pakistan, Habib Bank Of Pakistan, Bank Of
Punjab, Fazal Din & Sons, Shaukat Khannum Memorial Research Hospital, Mede quips,
Punjab Group of Colleges, and many others. The experience we have gained through
providing a variety of services to such established organizations has given us a better
understanding of client needs, which would prove an asset for us in future.

A brief description of the services being offered by us in each of the above areas is as

Architectural Design Consultancy:

We view architecture in two necessary ways. The design must be true according to the
programme and also according to the methods of construction. First is to fulfill the
conditions imposed by need and second is to employ the materials according to their
qualities and properties.
We perceive architecture design as a masterly, correct and magnificent play of spaces
brought together in light. To make the desires and visions of our clients intelligible,
capable of execution and communicable we take guidance from nature, as it is the most
important model of architecture.

Interior Design Consultancy:

A good design is simple, straightforward and reaches out to the masses. An idea or object
reduced to its simplest visual form speaks to us directly- there is no language or cultural
barriers. As designers our mission is to work with our clients to create design solutions
that are appropriate, creative, timely, environment sensitive, and economically feasible.
As designers, we create a body of work, which is recognizable as that of Meta-Con
design; because, we believe that this work will exhibit a purpose and an aesthetic that is
singular to our firm.
As design professionals, we demand more from ourselves than easy answers or facile
solutions. Our work is guided by a commitment to pursue excellence in our work,
developing intelligent solutions to the needs of our clients, and fostering sustainable,

In addition to interior design consultancy one of the major areas of our expertise is to

regard we work from the very beginning that is identifying the needs through listening

which meets all their demands. To achieve this we have a skilled and experienced team

Furniture Design and Production:

Designer Furniture is an output of the cultural moods and tastes of clients, blended with
the overall concept of the designer and décor and color schemes in fashion. We provide
from the traditional to the contemporary to the functional, all encompassing array of
designs, materials and patterns to create whatever ambience you desire in your
environment.
We specialize in design and production of customized furniture of all types for
commercial shops, offices and residences. The combined efforts of a team of skilled
labour and technical expertise of design staff results in a product of high quality, a
trademark of Meta-Con.

Model making:

In architecture and Interior, model making is a pre- implementation of design solution in
form to look at out put result. Model making of any interior and architecture space is
normally expected to oversee implementation of an accepted solution.

The Future:

The speed with which our environment has had a shift from the use of traditional designs
for interior, architecture and furniture for commercial and residential purposes to the use
of more modern, stylish and innovative designs suggests that the future of the market is
bright. In Addition the use of more and more innovative and rather new ideas over the
established theories of contemporary designers is a sign that young firms with a new
vision like MetaCon will attract more and more customers with Style and Taste. Thus we
see the future brighter for us as we take chances and to do innovative as well as
traditional projects.

Deputed at Pakistan Hydro Consultants, an International Consortium. It was constituted for
the design and construction supervision of the World Bank funded Ghazi Barotha
Hydropower Project, which has a design net head of 69m and a total generating capacity of
1450 MW. The project has an estimated cost of US$ 2.25 Billion. The Project comprises
of three major components, namely, Barrage, Power Channel & Power Complex.

Involved in the analysis & design and preparation of construction drawings of various
structures. Analysis and design was performed using state-of-the art computer software
such as STAAD-III, SAP90, PCACOL, PCABEAM, RCBIAXU etc. Carried out the design
work in accordance with ACI Building code, ASCE code for hydraulic structures,
AASHTO, AREA, ASTM ASD and other relevant codes of practice. All the tasks carried
out using a combination of state of the art computer and manual methods.

Barrage: Worked on the structural stability analysis of Standard Bays and Under
sluices. Contributed towards the design of various structural components such as
structure monoliths, gantry crane beams, cable trenches, drainage gallery, drainage
sump, approach slabs etc.
Developed spreadsheets for the stability analysis and design of wing walls
(retaining walls) on the right and left guide banks both upstream and downstream of
Standard bays and Under sluices.
Performed complete analysis and design of Barrage Control Building using
STAAD3.
Analyzed and designed Skimming Platform; a multi-tunnel concrete structure
heavily loaded by the accumulation of silt over the top slab.

drawings for Standard Bays, Under sluices, Skimming Platform and Barrage

Power Channel: Designed keeper anchorages, splices and connections for the
110m span Railway Bridge (multi-truss steel structure) over power channel.

- The duties included collection and evaluation of existing baseline conditions,
Study of various environmental impacts and the affects. Prepared the checklist
of possible negative and positive impacts.
- Worked on the EIA of AES Lalpir Thermal Power Plant Project. Compared the
project viability with other sources of energy. Studied the smoke emissions
effecting the environment and suggested various mitigation.
- Being In charge established the Environmental Laboratory of the Organization.
Trained staff and familiarize them in using various detection and testing
equipment.

- Responsible for the preparation of conceptual design, detailed design,
tender documents, bill of quantities, cost estimates and tender evaluation for
2.5 MGD water treatment plant for Sukkur.

Tender documents, bill of quantities, cost estimates of Water Supply System
for Gilgit Town.

- Worked on planning and design report, of drainage system for Pasni
Diesel Power Station. The report included design of drains for the collection
of rain water and Wastewater from the power station and its disposal to the
sea.
- Worked on the preparation of detailed design, tender documents and bill of
quantities for 10 MGD water treatment plant for Port Qasim Industrial Estate
and transmission main from Haliji Lake to the treatment plant including
Booster Pumping station.
- Worked on the preparation of detailed design tender documents and bill of
quantities for water treatment plant for 300 Mwe Chashma Nuclear Power
Plant.
- Participated in the design and construction supervision of effluent
treatment for Packages (Paper, Board and Packaging Industry). Supervised the
installation of all Mechanical equipment and commissioning of the plant.
- Worked on preliminary design, detailed design, tender documents and bill
of quantities for Dammam wastewater Reuse Project, Saudi Arabia.
- Worked on the preliminary design, detailed design and tender documents
for the developing areas in Kharj City, Saudi Arabia.
- Worked on detailed design tender documents, B.O.Q’s and cost estimates
for 18 MGD Additional Water Treatment plant at Simly and 48 inch dia
transmission main to Islamabad.
- Worked on the preparation of detailed design, Tender Documents, bill of
quantities, cost estimates for water supply and disposal pipelines for 3*210
Multan 2, Muzaffargarh Thermal Power Station. Also worked for plumbing
design for various buildings like Fire Station, Workshop etc.
- Worked on the design of intake structure and 10 ft. dia raw water pipe for
the conveyance of 100 MGD water for Hingol Dam Project.
- Responsible for landscaping, planning, design and supervised the
construction of Race Course Park Rawalpindi which included the design,
construction and commissioning Of first computer controlled fountain
complex in Pakistan.
- Prepared design of fountain complex for a building of Pakistan Atomic
Energy Commission.
- Prepared plumbing design for administration building and colony at
Mangla Hydro Electric Power Station.
- Worked on the design, BOQ’s and cost estimates for the plumbing design
for State Life Buildings at Islamabad and Faisalabad.
