1. Purpose



This method of statement covers the on-site installation of Building Wires as defined in

the General Specification.







2. Scope of Works



This procedure will define the method to be used to ensure that building wire

installations are correct and acceptable and shall conform to the Contract Documents

and Specification.







3. Responsible Personnel on Site



3.1. Construction Manager

3.2. Electrical Field Engineers

3.3. Safety Officer

3.4. QA/QC Engineer

3.5. Electrical Supervisors







4. Storage



4.1 The Building Wires shall be stored in clean and dry area.



4.2 Building Wires shall be stacked in one area. Size and colors shall be segregated to each

other.







5. Pre-Installation



5.1 All materials and documentation relevant to this particular Section of works will be

checked by the Construction Department prior to the commencement of works ensuring

that these are correct type.



5.2 Check the area where in the works to commence are ready, accessible and suitable for

permanent works.





5.3 Check the tools to be used for wire pulling such as ladders, wires, scaffoldings etc are

readily available in site and in good condition.

6. Installation



It is presumed that conduits and trunkings installation has been completed before starting

this works.



6.1 Clear all boxes from cement stains and other foreign materials.



6.2 Check all embedded conduits from blockage. If there are blockage encounter, clear the

blockage before start pulling the wires.



6.3 Scaffoldings and Ladders to be used during installation shall be erected properly to

ensure that safety of people working on it.



6.4 Prepare wires for pulling. Make sure that the wires are properly marked for their circuit

number designation.



6.5 Pull wires on the conduits and trunking. Proper care shall be exercised when pulling the

wires. Only approved pulling compound to be used if required. Where more than one

conductor is used for phase, each phase, neutral and ground wires shall be run in the

same conduit. Building wires shall be continuous from outlet to outlet and no splices

shall be made except within the outlet or junction boxes. Different phases shall not be

drawn in one conduit.



6.6 Connect the wire on the outlet boxes using plastic connectors to ensure the continuity of

wires during testing. Ensure the connections are correct.



6.7 Conduct insulation resistance test and continuity test shall be conducted in the

presence of Consultant for their acceptance.



6.8 Install Ceiling Rosette for the light points.



6.9 Raise Request for Inspection for wires Installation.

7.2 Approved Material Submittals

7.3 Approved Material Inspection Report

7.4 Approved Safety Plan

7.5 Approved QA/QC Inspection & Test Plan.

8. Safety



8.1 All safety precautions shall be followed as per approved safety plan & procedure.

Ensure all involved persons are aware of the same.



8.2 Safety Officer shall ensure that all ladders and scaffoldings are safe.



8.3 Tradesman shall ensure that before leaving their working places, it must be clean,

tidy and free from rubbish.
