Asian American Resource and Cultural Center Workshops
Since 2005, the Asian American Resource and Cultural Center (AARCC) has supported the needs
of UIC’s Asian American students and educated the campus about Asian American culture,
history, and contemporary social issues. AARCC will offer two Summer College workshops to
introduce students to campus resources and programs with a focus on Asian Americans:

Asian American Resource and Cultural Center Social: July 2, 2009 12:00‐1:00
Join AARCC for free pizza and learn about services for Asian Americans such as student
organizations and other campus activities. Also, meet students from the Asian
American Mentor Program (AAMP), a program designed to help ease the transition to
UIC for new Asian American students. Location: Room 101 Taft Hall
Who are Asian Americans?: July 16, 2009 12:00‐1:00
Did you know that 24% of UIC undergraduates are Asian Americans? What groups make
up this population, and how are they similar and different? Find out more and discover
Asian American Studies courses that fulfill general education requirements while also
learning about Asian American history and culture. Location: Room 101 Taft Hall

All students participating in Summer College are welcome to attend.
