CHICAGO’S

Live it up in Lincoln Park

NEIGHBORHOODS

Things to do in Lincoln Park

Not your average Park!

Every WY student has been on field trips.

Since grade school, trips include places like

science museums, art museums and, of course,

zoos! Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the main field trip

destinations.

“Hasn’t everyone been to the zoo?” asked

Marcin Chojnowski ‘09. While a trip to the zoo

seems like a trip from sixth grade, being there is

almost a right of passage for Chicago children.

Lincoln Park also offers exciting events for

older audiences. The Chicago History Museum

features interesting events and galleries spanning

the city’s past, present, and future.

“I loved going to the History Museum. It taught

me stuff about Chicago I never knew,” said Kevin

Warner ’10.

The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum is

another of the town’s institutes for hands on

learning. This museum features one of the top

live butterfly exhibits. It also has an exhibit called

“Extreme Green House”, which teaches families

how everything is connected to nature.

For the more artistic visitors, there’s the

Chicago Contemporary Art museum. This gallery

has over 5,000-square-feet of original paintings

by Chicago artists.

Another choice is the Lincoln Park

Conservatory. It has greenery from all over the

world. It also provides shows for different holidays

around the year.

“The Conservatory is absolutely beautiful,” said

Victoria Santiago ’09.

At the All About Dance studio in Lincoln Park,

families and individuals can learn how to do all

sorts of dances from jazz to salsa.

The DePaul LP campus spans most of the

Lincoln Park neighborhood. The school puts on

many shows and festivals over the summer.

Along with all the shows and museums, Lincoln

Park is still named after the huge stretch of the Best thing about the zoo - its free! Enjoy a stroll
