ISIC/ITIC
International Student/Teacher Identity Card
Your regular GT ID may not be accepted as proof of student/faculty status while you are
abroad, so you may want to purchase the International Student/Teacher Identity Card
(ISIC/ITIC). ISIC/ITIC is internationally recognized proof of student/faculty status.
Benefits of ISIC/ITIC vary widely from country to country, but may include discounts on
airfares and other transportation, accommodation, and admission fees to museums, cultural
events, and concerts. ISIC/ITIC also provides basic medical and accident insurance for as
long as your card is valid.
The ISIC/ITIC ($22) is valid for one year. There is no age limit for purchasing
ISIC/ITIC, but age restrictions may apply to some discounts. A handbook free to all
ISIC/ITIC purchasers provides detailed information on insurance, emergency assistance
for travelers, student airfares, and cardholder discounts in the United States and abroad.
You can purchase an ISIC or ITIC in the Office of International Education (OIE) at
Georgia Tech by bringing or mailing the following items to OIE:
1. Current student or faculty ID (if mailing, send photocopy)
2. One passport-sized photo (can be taken in OIE; cost is $15 for sheet of 8 photos)
3. Fee $22, payable by check to Georgia Tech
4. ISIC/ITIC information sheet (available in OIE or at
http://www.oie.gatech.edu/sa/forms/appl_isic.pdf)
