to be held in conjunction with the general election this spring.
If only one person applies for the open trustee spot, then an
election will not need to occur.

the school board. The election will be held May 10.
A special election to be held in conjunction with the general

Keeton, who resigned his seat in January. Filing for this special
election opened Feb. 9 and closes on March 4.
Places 6 and 7, board seats currently occupied by Melissa
Brown and Lori Ball respectively, will be filled by the general
election. Both board members have filed to run again for their
seats. Filing for the general election opened on Feb. 9 and closes

sometimes hostile foreign resources.
Q: How does natural gas help minimize air pollution?
A: Since natural gas is a cleaner burning fossil fuel, it creates fewer emissions – reducing
pollution and preserving our air quality.
Q: How does natural gas drilling impact the water supply?
A: The process of drilling natural gas wells includes the use of water to drill and create
fractures in the geologic structures, allowing the release of natural gas trapped inside the
shale. However, natural gas drilling consumes less than two percent of all consumed
water in the region.
Q: What happens to the wellsite after the drilling is completed?
A: Chesapeake believes that the drilling process should be as environmentally friendly
as the natural gas we’re producing. That’s why we go above and beyond to treat essential
green space and groundwater resources with the utmost of care, and, whenever possible,
leave the site in better condition than when we began. Generally, the completed wellsites Above: Guaranteed Auto Express received the Spirit of

Q: How does natural gas drilling improve the urban environment? Right: Zeig Electric received the Spirit of Decision award.
A: Although drilling for natural gas may cause minimal and temporary inconvenience in
the immediate area common to any construction project, the revenues generated for all
local taxing jurisdictions may be used for benefits throughout the community and for
generations to come. Frequently, the addition of natural gas wells in any neighborhood is
less obtrusive long-term than new retail space, residential units, or office development
which might have occurred on the same site.

Bears visit Western Hills in Soccer Showdown
By A.C. Hall
It was an unseasonably mild night as the Brewer Bears
varsity soccer team played at Western Hills this past Friday
night.
After surviving a few close calls early, #8 gave Western
Hills a scare as he put together a great run on their goal.
After that it was back on the defensive as Western Hills put
together several sustained possessions in Brewer territory. #13
Armando Garcia and #3 Tony Moreno played great defense,
but eventually Western Hills was able to score, taking an early
1-0 lead.
After the goal Brewer began a series of attacks on the
Western Hills goal and did a much better job of setting up
offensive plays. They took a number of shots that barely
missed, but Western Hills was able to get a player behind the
Brewer team who made a breakaway goal, putting Western
